Amazing Jamtex, really I like the covers of japanese PC games and I have to say that the covers of hentaï games are particularly beautiful ^^ Are there any games amongst these ones that are worth playing, I mean even if they were not hentai games?
No the Doom 2, like a few of the other games are not hentai games and I don't have any .WAD files for it at all. Anyway there is a big difference between hentai games and porn, one being fantasy and the other being more real. I wouldn't have any games that featured real life women, I rather play with real women in real life. (If you see what I mean...). This weekend I'll add my arcade collection.
the only difference is one is cartoon porn. I'm pretty sure the general concencus is that it is worse to have hentai... good thing you backed out of selling me that msx...after this thread I would have probly spent a good 6 hours cleaning every single part of it.
If someone posted a thread of softcore porn (hello Yakumo) in a collection thread then I don't think anyone would have cared, but Hentai games for an computer that no one else is likely to collect is quite cool, hence all the nice replies. As for the MSX, I have a couple of them, and use an MSX Turbo R for any hentai / mahjong games. The others are there for back up and usually sit in a corner looking nice. Anyway I do not like the way you are implying that I use a lot of kleenex when playing these games, when I do I play them for fun or play them with girlfriend (which she translates some of the god awful slang).
If you're going to post pictures of your collection, you have to be willing to deal with positive and negative reactions. At the same time, I think that as adults we can all be respectful and not pass judgement on the contents of someone else's collection, no matter how left-of-center some games may be. I don't think members here should have to learn to take any jabs, because none of us should be delivering any. And if you're joking, make it clear that you are with the appropriate smileys. If the issue is that you're not comfortable with the pictures or the description of the collection items, don't read the post. We're all familiar with the diversity and perversity of the eastern game market, so nobody should have a problem with the post Jamtex made.
Whats the weirdest, most out of there hentai game in this lot? Anything really WTF? I played one before at a friends house and it was damn funny.
I agree kendrick! At least some good came out of this, as I really needed the laugh. BTW, awesome collection!:sexy2:
Jamtex, do you own Custers Revenge or Beat em and Eat em?:icon_bigg But seriously, there is one thing I'd like to know. Have Japanese Hentai games evolved much over the years, or are they still basically the same?
'Hentai' as a game genre is not very descriptive, in the same way that 'shooter' isn't helpful. For the most part, the format has been unchanged for 30 years: finish a level, be rewarded with nudity. This means that anything from a scrolling space shooter like Steam Hearts or a tactical RPG like Utawarerumono can be considered a hentai title. And obviously, with 3D graphics capabilities being what they are today, said nudity is presented from more angles and with more outfits, but is not necessarily more realistic. The evolution you're looking for is occuring now in sex simulation, which carries with it plenty of sociological baggage. Rather than the core of the game being some other genre with the sex and skin tacked on the end, the sex and skin are considered the actual game. The representative examples of this type of game come mostly from the company Illusion, which was responsible for titles like Artificial Girl, Oppai Slider and the controversial Rapelay. It's hard to take sex simulation video games seriously, as they're sold to an audience that's largely after risk-free thrills. And we're expected to repress certain urges and behaviors in public just as part of normal membership in society (in the east or in the west) so there should be no shame in playing and no harm in doing so either. But it's interesting to see how sex simulation games are shaping (and are shaped by) social rules. The one example that comes to mind is the Artificial Girl series, where you're expected to play the game in a manner that shows affection and respect to the girl in question. Sex doesn't happen unless you've earned the trust and understanding of the girl. Or, you can be clever and use somebody else's save file, if you don't mind circumventing the rest of the gameplay. I'm not quite sure where the line between 'eroge' and 'hentai' is drawn. I know that in the case of eroge, there's enough of a game present that you can create a kid-friendly version by removing all of the sex and nudity (which is why most of those games are visual novels or other interactive fiction.) Anyway, sorry for hijacking the conversation. We can go back to hurling insults now, if you like.
