Your router firewall, maybe? Try setting up port forwarding there.

Ah, it seems you're right with regards to Winny. The reason for Share seems to be unknown, same for the recent Perfect Dark arrests, but I don't think one of the most prolific PD uploaders, who got arrested back in 2010, would ever post information like that in public. The police claimed to have cracked the network too in that case, if I recall correctly.

Nah, there's no firewall on the router either.

My ports open but I'm only getting like 2Kb/s. I don't get why it's so slow.

^^ torrenting at it's finest! (and have half a t waiting to reconnect back to BCG, if she returns?)
    ...
i'm pointing out the status-quo here but you are limited by MANY factors, some of which are beyond your control!
    ....
1, seed vs peer group, the higher the seed...(that doesn't account for good-guy seeders that block output but still appear as a seed on ALL connected clients/trackers)
    2, isp limitations, including overseas!
3, global traffic conditions and PREMIUM timezones! (it maybe off-tariff restriction at one side but the other side be on premium time. if so, they'll only be able to upload so much anyway, the isp's ALWAYS cap I/O!) :friendly_wink:
    ...
    aye!

Sorry to dig up an old (ish) post but I'm having the exact same problem.

I'm at the same point - it's connected but I get the "open port is NOT confirmed" - I checked my firewall settings and it's open for Perfectdark (i.e. it's letting it through)

A few web trawls later, I found this site which mentions a patch that can get it to work, but I can't figure out what the patch actually is?

    See here:

Kind of hoping someone more technically minded might be able to help?

I want to torrent some anime on a Japanese Torrent site just to see if Japan will go through the trouble of sending a swap team all the way to the Buttfuck middle of nowhere USA just to arrest me.

^ Heck, you can use other country's IP (not USA and Japan) so that they will hide your a**** when you're downloading something on a bitTorrent site.

On a similar but slightly off-topic note:

Why is it so difficult to find online streams of Japanese TV stations?

Broadcasts from anywhere else in the world, say: South Korea, China, Latin America, UK, Russia, Canada, Egypt, India, even Ethiopia FFS, are generally much easier to find.
