Japanese Import Pc Gaming

They're not translated of course, and it's not for every last game, you'll know beforehand if the game has the manual scan or not because there's a manual icon next to it, and it's not the greatest scan quality in the world but its readable enough... They did attempt English translations for a bunch of MSX games and manuals several years ago under the WOOMB label, but the response was too low (i.e. no one cared) so that was discontinued.

There are a few quirks with some of the manuals, for example in the manual for The Screamer ("DEHUMANIZE YOURSELF AND FACE TO BLOODSHED") they cut out like the first 50 pages of manga storyline because they couldn't secure the rights from the original artist. And they did something nasty with the Compile games on PC98, which is they distributed each individual games from Disk Station separately, so technically they do have the corresponding instructions but it's only like 2 pages from the whole magazine =( Though it doesn't matter too much because I downloaded all the Disk Stations from japanese torrents but it's bothersome when you know what's going on. Speaking of which, those Disk Station magazines for Windows 95 have a bunch of neat games on it. I have all the isos but my internet connection is too slow and unstable to upload right now, otherwise I would upload it to archive.org

Still the site is pretty good for finding old games from PC88, PC98, X68000, etc. Especially when they cut all the games down to 500 yen a few years ago, that's about the time when I went on a buying spree =) But most of them are text adventures and RPGs so if you don't know japanese then why bother.

Yeah, I know very well Compile : they call Compile Heart today (even if it's Idea Factory's subsidiary, it's Compile former executive which creates Compile Heart......). And they made Puyo Puyo Games and Madou Monogatari Games (I love the Saturn RPG Madou Monogatari ......).

They've released some other Games on PC like Devil Force series :

DSwizzy145 has put amusement center's link for some retro Japanese PC Games (here link for Compile's Discstations on Windows, some Games are released in box : http://www.amusement-center.com/compile/legend/index.cgi).

In fact, most of the PC Games you've put (and found in my searching......) are just US and European Games but released in Japan. I see there are little exclusive Japanese PC Games (without counting Hentai or Doujin Games). I'm asking where have you found all these informations .......

 

Yeah most of the games that i have found are not Japanese original games but i always prefer the Japanese release if i have a option.
i have found some Japanese originals and i will post some detailed information about them in this blog at a later date.

Most of the information comes from yahoo.jp btw.

As for those compile games some are pretty good but all look a bit doujinish
if you know what i mean.

Yeah, Compile's discstations are kind of doujin; I will say sort of mini-games . One of the Games which interests me is El.Do.Ra.Do (I believe he is released in box : I'd found the front cover......). And no problem for the link .

jump hero gaiden 4 had a release in a normal cd case and its a pretty good game too.

That's right, I'm a RPG fan !! But I like some other Game's type : Action (I think there shouldn't be a lot of Japanese exclusive Actions Games on PC; these kind of Games are generally on consoles......), Adventure (even if it's more visual novel in Japan), Strategy (yes, it exists Strategy Games in Japan even if they've made RPG principally, in this case here, Tactical RPG)......

I'm not into strategy or adventure games at all but i like action rpg's.

I cant believe kitchen panic had a release on pc but that looks like a flyer are you sure it had a release on pc?

jump hero gaiden pc98 is a not a commercial game and its crap jump hero gaiden 4 is much better .

I fear you are correct i do not believe that we will find many exclusive Japanese action games for the pc.

we should list as many finds as possible.

I've seen some Japanese Psx Games have had some PC releases (Growlanser, Lunar......).

I will like to see some Gameplay of Jump Hero Gaiden 4 : I like Compile Games and I'm sure I'm going to like this Game too !!!

I'm sure there should have some Japanese Exclusive Action PC Games but for that, I should find some kind of list on Japanese PC Games.....I also collect only original Japanese Games (on consoles and PC) but for PC, I prefer to take EU and US Games (for avoiding configurations' problems.......since I'm also PC Game's collector, that's better for me )

A good PC Game's list !! I see we like the same Games !!! As I've said, I'm a PC Game's collector, so, I almost know most of your Game's collection (played and found ). But I've discovered 2 or 3 Games I didn't know on Dos and Windows Games (Barrage for example : I wll like to see some Gameplay......).

Do you happen to know if Xak III came out for the MS-DOS in Japan? cuz the only version i know of that actually DID came out for the MS-DOS was only in South Korea.
