After buying japanese import games from places like Ebay.com or Play-Asia for more than 5 (!) years I had the mindblowing idea of creating an account for japanese online shops like Suruga-Ya.

they even have the option to pay via PayPal!

And I let them send all the stuff to my in-laws in Kyoto!

Now I would like to know which other places have online store where I can either pay with PayPal or credit card.

so fair I have checked Superpotato and Trader - but both didnt seem to have much stuff to offer.

Yeah but that's a shop made for foreigners.

I am looking for actual japanese stores inside Japan that only sell in Japan.

It's hard work mate. The amount of time you'l spend on packing is amazing. I had a go at it and made some good money BUT the amount of personal time it took up was a joke. I had to close shop in the end.

I too used to import and sell stuff on Ebay and forums.

but this is purely for my own collection.

it still do trade with Doujinshis though.....lots of naughty people here in Germany.

Ah, so you want a shop in Japan that will sell to you in Germany\/ I don't think you will find any but you could buy from Yahoo Auctions through a 3rd person. This would be the best option I think.

Back in the day (talking like 15 years ago), Surugaya used to be ship internationally....

How did you pay though? I tried to contact Super Potato online and some Yahoo sellers with flawless polite Japanese (my teacher helped me) explaining my situation and all they said is "I don't know PayPal, I'm afraid of using it because I never did before, please leave me alone" heheh.

I actually had a few shops that would ship to me when I lived in Hawaii, but I kept my Japan Net bank account, which definitely helped. Surugaya... oh, the memories. About 15 years ago they actually had a decent selection and decent prices. Last I checked (about 2-3 years ago) the selection dwindled, to say the least!)

Shipping the stuff is no big deal since like stated in my first post all games are sent to the address of my in-laws in Kyoto :)

Surugaya may not be the top notch when it comes to affordable video games but they're still better than all of Ebay.

If you keep checking Surugaya you'll eventually find an amazing deal....I bought a ton of stuff from there.

But they make a lot of mistakes in my experience....15 years ago, they forgot to send me an LD (which is likely one reason why they stopped international orders), I've been sent multiple items missing things like the manual and have had to go back to them for refunds.

I fully expect their warehouse to be about as neat and organized as a soup sandwich.

I noticed that the store had disappeared off your site. Got some great games a excellent prices when you used to run it mate, but understandable with how much time it takes to run something like that!

Just some update. Finally got the games.

Several PC-FX, PC Engine and Mega Drive Games.

The PC-FX and PC Engine stuff is in good condition with spines. Just one MD game looks like it has been sent directly into the sun :(

which means I wont be able to order expensive games there I guess, which is rather sad. Wish they would add some descriptions to the games so I know wether I am buying something with sunfading or if something is missing.

You mean by mail or by phone?

By phone would be difficult since I am in Germany.
