Is the Titanfall controller part of the bundle? Because they're only available separately (and pretty expensive) in the West...

It was bought as a separate item but they cost the same price as the regular controller over here.

When you pre-ordered, was that before the Kinectless bundle was announced?

Also the US Titanfall bundle had a different box, not that it really matters. Too bad the whole system didn't look as cool as the controller.

No, the Kinect bundle and basic console set were announced in Japan at the same time, then came the Titanfall pack. The Kinect pack comes with Titanfall and some Kinect sports game and is very expensive. The basic console and Titanfall set are the same price but have different boxes. I had originally ordered the basic pack until I found out that the Titanfall pack was the same price so I changed my order a few weeks back.

With HDMI on machine MS pays less royalties. PS4 has this too, along with blu-ray, DTS, Dolby Digital but cleverly hidden.

Ah, I see. I wonder why the Xbox One doesn't have any mention of BluRay on it? What is cool about the BluRay playback on the Xbox One is that is actually played my Predator BluRay disc. Both my Pioneer BluRay player and PC Pioneer BluRay recorder can't play it at all. Apareantly the first run has faults on the discs rendering them unplayable in many BluRay players even with up to date firmware.

Enjoy your new purchase, yet didn't know you was a fan of the latest generation of consoles Yakumo and was mainly retro stuff? Did you pick up a PS4 too?

Xbox One can not play blu-ray out of box. Probably MS pays royaties only when one downloads BD app.

Oh yes, I love games no matter if they are new or old. I have a 360 with around 60 to 70 titles on disc and probably about 20 to 30 downloaded titles. I don't own a PS4 or have any interest in buying one to tell the truth. I have way too many games as it is :)

I see. Cleaver move actually since not everyone will download the app so they can save a little here and there. I guess that's why there's an app to play audio discs too.

A lot of people seem to think I'm Japanese but I'm not. I'm 100% British :)

Why did buy Xbone though? Especially being in Japan.

Because I liked the 360. It had the games I wanted to play. Loads of shooters, the best racing games (Not a fan of GT at all and I have tried hard to really get in to the series) and some stellar western titles. The Xbox One was bought because of this plus I have a lot of stuff such as Gold membership, achievement scores and my friends in the west also have one so it's great for multiplayer.

It doesn't bother me at all if the Xbox One sells like crap in Japan for two main reasons. The used and old new stock games will become really cheap and the console is region free so importing from Asia (cheaper than buying domestic Japanese releases anyway) is easy plus I can also buy US and European imports through the likes of Amazon. Another good point is that if it sells poorly then I have a pretty unique bit of kit as far as Japanese standards go. Just think, how many Japanese Atari Jaguars have you seen? I've only seen one. That's how badly that sold but then again the Jag was crap when it was released never mind now.

Half the units sold were probably to western journalists for unboxing lol.

Microsoft still has to pay royalties for HDMI as it needs to be HDCP compatible, seeing as it has hdmi in :?

Any device with HDMI requires royalties. Printing HDMI logo on the device lowers it. HDCP can be licensed without HDMI (like DVI monitors support HDCP now).
