Johnny's Gran Turismo collection

Nice to see it in the collection. Really should have bought more of them.

This is where Gran Turismo was born. It's actually MotorToonGP 2, but the first was not released in NTSC|U/C. Anyway, MTGP2/Motor Toon Grand Prix has a unlockable minigame called MotorToonR, the first attempt to create real physics/real racing by Polyphony Digital, when the were still called Polys Entertainment.

Curiously, the japanese version of Gran Turismo stil shows the Polys Entertainment logo. The US/European version already replaces it by using Polyphony Digital Inc.



Does anyone know if "Best" or "PSBooks" versions still have the Polys Entertainment logo?

 

I can't believe that i had forgot to add this, that i got last year as well. :033: :shrug:

no PD logos in movies and manuals. just added PD logo on package for [the Best] and [PS One Books].

SCE was established in 1993, started as internal company of Sony Music Entertainment (SME).
K.Yamauchi was started his carrier on [SME New-media section GS (Game-Software) division].
First work Epic-Sony Records [KARURA-OH] started in 1992 for Nintendo Super-Famicom.
it developed by company Ukiyo-tei at first, but freezed in 1991.
Yamauchi and part-timer programers finished work in 1993 and go to PlayStaion project soon. his first Green-lights projects on PS were [MOTOR TOON GP] and [RED (or LED) PLASM] ,
NTSC-J MOTOR TOON (SCPS 10001) for first game of SCE. so printed as [SCE development Div.#1] on manual of MOTOR TOON GP 2 (JPN,1996).
[Polys] name just for 1997 to formally establishe PD on Apr-2, 1998.

[KARURA-OH] a.k.a [SKYBLAZER] on SNES U.S. and PAL, [RED PLASM] re-titled as [OMEGA BOOST].
In 1996, PlayStation Club (JPN) disc [ Pule-Pule vol. 3 ] , early OMEGA BOOST playable demo included . it earlyer than GRAN TURISMO .

Ive decided im going to mentally block edward_v12's collection when i think of my own. I think he has put us all to shame a little bit, although his collection is a good resource for looking for new items.

ps. i occasionaly have a little look on mercardo live and a while ago i spotted a copy of GT4 with alternative cover art, ive spoke with a friend who lives in brasil but he has been unable to find it, do you know of this cover art?

Nah, don't even care about that. We get the exact same cover of the NTSC|U/C. That is just a mockup someone did.

just I had long time of the collection.
No.1 collector living in U.S. maybe. example, lockshow13 (now closed his huge PlayStation demo collection site) and the others. I lose to them many time in duel on ebay.
enjoy and slowly the best way for collection I think.
I work for making good list for help collectors. of course only when I day off.

That 's GT4. not prologue. order code [SCPS-17001SET] for jp.playstation.com. Released on Dec 28, 2004. Game + DVD + Picture + Key ring.
DVD is short version of extra DVD in PAL GT4-Prologue.

anyway, lockshow13. I don 't know about details. I found closed his site in May.
I hope he 's back ....:-(

to recover, I have made me with Integra and Integra Race Car in Tsukuba!​

but I think they are three Original pics in total..
