Also says they're marked down. That's probably why.

they dont want people to just realize they are playing the original xbox, with MARGINALLY better graphics and take it back in like an hour

There's a problem with that sign. Someone would have to buy a 360 in order to return it...

I might buy one when (if) I go in August, assuming enough region free games/region hacks of some sort are out by then.

  7. Take me with you! I can fit in a standard-size carry on, and am self-sustaining in that I can go days without food!

I plan on going in august as well :O ... Planning on going to Language school to get my Japanese back up to spec (meant to go last august but it all went pair shaped >.<)!!!

Back on topic... the 360 is an odd beast, i played mine like crazy for the first 2 weeks of ownership, i havent played it since december now... and i really cant even be arsed to reach over and grab the controller to turn it on, never mind get up and put another disk in... im quite happy sat here abusing my internet connection in conjunction with my Xbox 1 and XBMC

Having said that, i dont wanna sell the 360 cos i see hope for it in the future.. maybe, sorta, possibly... meh ._.

Just out of pure curiosity, what are they selling in the generic "Xbox 360" case? I thought those were consoles at first, but now i see it's just a game case... and it's only 780 yen.

Methinks if you look closer there are other numbers infront of that. Looks like a 3 and a 9 to me.

OT- I am going for july and august next summer as well! Just gonna chill with friends, game center (I'm probably shite at melty blood now) and the usual sites and shopping.

You guys are all pussies going in the summer. I'm going to go and freeze my ass off next month.
Can't wait to go snowboarding for a day. Hell -- first cold weather in almost 2 years!!

My plastic fantastic friend is funding my trip, and I have to save up some money as well first, I might leave it until November, nicer autumnal scenery and the like.

:p!! I'd go tommorrow if i a) had the money b) didnt have uni to go to.

Where you headed? Tokyo? The language school I'm planning on going to is in Okazaki. I have friends in Nagoya so okazaki seems like a good plan ^_^.

Sorry to keep going off topic... erm Yeah 360, japan... bad! there we go

I'd go tomorrow if I wasn't at uni as well. I have thought about doing a long weekend from time to time. It is the 600 quid flight that kills that one though!

I do prefer Japan when it is cold, early spring when it is still quite cold and not rainy is the best time. You got some hanami and you don't roast just walking down the street. It is always the walk back from the game shop with a ton of gear in the blazing summer that sticks in my mind. I would really like to ski in japan as well.

For the record, I'm visiting all my mates from uni then doing a roadtrip from osaka to tokyo in a couple of cars, gonna be cool. Then just gonna chill at a mates beach house south of osaka. Gotta work my ass off to afford it though (still most accomadation will be free!)

So, eh, yeah 360 is going to bomb in japan - right. Certain sources (me included) will delight in reporting that fact with amusing titbits for the next year or so - right. At least it will be funny. I eagerly await the next statistic or story.

Does the Japanese 360 have the option to set the internal language? I guess it's not going to work on Live! in the UK, so might see what the second hand market here is like first.

    O/T

We should have a thread about who is visiting Japan, where and when, arrange meetups and the like. Maybe meet up in one of the British/Irish bars and have a pint of guinness! ;)

Yeah a 1000 yen guiness! Had a couple of those in my time, I remember I found a gaijin place to watch the cricket last summer, there was just about every other british guy in kobe there!

    On topic-

On the 360 you can set your location and language no problems. I have heard of people fooling the marketplace into thinking you are from a different region so you can get demos from japan. So you may be able to do everything but play on live.

Hmmm... I was hoping to play online with this generation... may have to just get a PAL console then.

I was looking at bar prices for some "Irish" bar in Kyoto, and they were asking 1200 Yen for a whiskey! true they had others at 800 Yen, but seriously... I laugh at their "traditional" food, the odd plate of chips/sausages and then the rest is all Japanese style food.

Hehe where my student housing was in osaka was actually quite a classy area (it was a private place owned by the uni) and there was this foreign food shop there. They were charging a vicious 2000 yen for the smallest piece of brie you have ever seen in your life. They were trying to sell whisky at horrendous prices as well, imported beer easily ran into 500-800 yen a bottle. Individual french cakes in the 5000 yen mark. I generally avoid gaijin places in japan - I only go in en mass for the comedy value.

The only place in japan where the drinks were more expensive was a host place I went to with a group of girls! (again for comedy value - girls at the uni I was at were very, very rich)

I fear I may have to stock up on duty free on the way there, I can't blow my entire budget on a night in a bar. Do the old hip flask in the pocket and just order Coke trick.
