What are some of the "Must Have Exclusives?" I purchased Motorstorm and Resistance. They are cool, but dont truly feel addicting. Yesterday night I also purchased Little Big Planet but have yet to play it and have read many forums and news sites claiming that many of the User Made content is being removed if it contains the slightest bit of copyrighted material so it is kind of Iffy... Please tell me some of the fun things about the PS Triple, because so far I almost feel like returning it... :crying: But I really dont want to. I got the PS3 mainly because I have wanted to have it since it came out and because yesterday if you purchased the $400 80 GB model it came with a $100 Gift Card (Walmart)
hmmm, Uncharted Ratchet and Clank. Metal Gear Solid 4. GT 5 Prologue. I dont own any of these games, nor the system itself (yet), but I played them a a freinds house and they are truly must have.
I totally did baby. Why? Is that a problem? And thanks Ed. I was really wanting to try GT5 that much I know. and Uncharted? Really Good?
Heavenly Sword is quite good if you can get it cheap (as it's VERY short) but if you're after something more meaty you could try Uncharted. Eye of Judgement is good if you're after something a bit unique, or you could try Buzz! Quiz TV if you plan to have lots of party games. Ratchet and Clank & Little Big Planet for your platforming fix of course. MGS4 I found very over-hyped but quite a lot of people rave about it. Resistance 2 and SOCOM look good for online shooting. Valkyria Chronicles and Folklore if you're after an RPG. Also don't forget the PSN, loads of good games on there like Pixeljunk Monsters, Wipeout HD, Super Star Dust HD. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CategorylayStation_3-only_games for a list of games, quite a few good exclusives coming soon such as InFamous and L.A. Noire.
I beg to differ. Ratchet and Clank doesn't belong on the "Best of" list. It's a mediocre platformer by any standards even compared to Banjo on n64 and Mario Galaxy! I really wanted to like R & C because I found it for a tenner but I passed the offer since the game was so dull. Same with Lair, avoid.
I just bought one myself man. I got a used 40 gig. I purchased Eternal Sonata and Folklore for mine I didnt play ES on 360 so it was a must have for PS3 with all the extra stuff they added. Im looking at getting LBP and Resistance 1 and 2. Im enjoying the system quite a bit actually.
Uncharted! I play that on the demo stations whenever I can. I just wish it was Tomb Raider. And I gotta agree with Barcode, I don't get the appeal of the Ratchet and Clank/Jak and Daxter games. I have the PS2 ones and there alright but I'd rather play something else.
i'm just messin' with ya'. there's no doubt in my mind you'll come crawling back to Xbox Live... :110:
I think the problem here is that you are comparing a pure platformer like Galaxy with a shooter with a few jumps like R&C. I've always loved the series and their main appeal, at least for me, are the action sections of the game and learning the effects and uses of each weapon and gadget. Anyway, you can always try the PSN demo and see if it fits your taste. I got a cheap copy of Lair two weeks ago and it's not that bad (although it's not in the same league as the Rogue Squadron games), specially if you download the patch for classic control. My PS3's game list would include Siren: Blood Curse (nice survival horror, much better imho than Silent Hill: Homecoming, and available through PSN), Wipeout HD, Uncharted, Valkyrie Chronicles or Warhawk. To be honest I'd keep it even only to try Heavy Rain, Yakuza 3 or GTI Club when they are out.
Oh yes he will  Uncharted is the only game I have bought and was well worth it....in fact now I have a rumble pad I think I may give it another go soon!
Thanks for all of the detailed responses and such! Looks like what I will be after now is some Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and Siren. I gotta start downloading demos as well! :icon_bigg And I have to kinda agree. I played most of the earlier Rachet and Clanks. They were pretty good, but nothing amazing. I will try out the new one aswell! And go back to XBOX LIVE? Of course I will! I am not ditching it completely. ;-)
Very well regarded games that are great value for money. Is it past your bedtime? If you want to hate PS3 there's stuff to hate, if you want to like it there's plenty to like. Just like 360 or Wii.
Exactly. I just personally prefer my PS3 to the 360, not saying the 360 is in anyway a bad console though.
I love my PS3 for playing Bluray films. ...It's definately the best current generation games console for playing Bluray films, no question.
Ho ho ho.... Well we didn't think you loved your 360 for it's format, HD DVD. I prefer my PS3 for playing these: http://au.ps3.ign.com/index/reviews...ribute=article.overall_rating&sort.order=desc http://au.ps3.ign.com/index/reviews...ribute=article.overall_rating&sort.order=desc Feel free to go through them line by line and tell them how they're the wrong type of fun.
WipEout HD is absolutely amazing. It's surely the best £13 I've spent in a very, very long time. It looks stunning and it really is a joy to play. I must admit my jaw dropped when I fired it up and did the first race; it's had this effect on all my mates that've had a go too. Bionic Command: Rearmed and MegaMan 9 are well worth £6 each too. I know these aren't system exclusives but they're excellent games. As for games on an actual physical disc, so far I'm on Battle Fantasia and that's about it. I await Street Fighter IV, King of Fighters XII and BlazBlue.
