Is that a good deal? It came with a controller and a really bad offroad car combat game. It Is in very good condition.Did I get ripped or is it a good deal?

That would be roughly on a par with UK Ebay prices I guess, maybe a bit much, but by US standards that's probably on the pricey side due to the exchange rate. I would've thought it's not too hard to track down US Saturns for more like $30 or so, more depending on boxed/condition/games.

Not really a great price. Check out Ebay.

i don't think i'd pay that much for a Saturn. you can get one for $30 or even less pretty easily.

It's the only place that had one. I can't use Ebay since I don't have a credit card so I'm stuck with local stores.

Once I get one for cheaper I'm gonna return it or sell it back.

Arkanoid, be happy that you have gotten a Saturn. So screw the rest, I believe some of the comments are of envy. To me 75 is a good price, so screw the comments that says other wise. So be happy of what you got.

Since you say that it's in really good condition, $75 is a pretty good price considering that you got it at a store.

Now have fun finding a good saturn game anywhere other than the internet :p

I'd say he was looking for an informed answer, not a nice one. $75 seems like a lot to pay for a "bare" Saturn considering prices seen on forums and Ebay. Stop looking for things that aren't there, please.

I own a Saturn, and I'd bet good money SegaFreak_NL isn't short of a Saturn either. Exactly where does this imagined envy come in? The man asked if a loose Saturn + game was worth $75 and was answered accordingly.

I've given up asking you to stop being so crazy, but could I at least encourage you not to post your craziness for all to see?

I'm picking up Nights and Daytona USA tomorrow at the same store for $10. Also it's in very good condition. There's only light scratches on the CD lid and dirt in the power and reset button's lettering. The controller was disgusting though.

    Cool beans.

Alchy: what ever man, I would gladly pay 75 $ for a good condition Saturn . Since at least to me 75 $ is not that much to me. But still sometimes some people do say things, so the person feel that the paid too much. And etc. So whether it was a bare system or not. Then I think I would still be glad for getting a Saturn. But crazy ? compared to whom ? Tony Blair , Gordon Brown ? Bush ? Adolf Hitler ? Saddam fucking Hussein ? Pia Kjærsgård ? if I was crazy, then I would be the most harmless crazy person.

I'm glad I got one but for now I have to resort to disk swapping to play good games. I'm currently really enjoying Virtua Racing and Sega Rally Championship. I'm going to build a collection up of real games so don't think I'm just going to disk swap. The only 2 consoles I burn games for is Sega CD and Dreamcast mainly because it's impossible to find anything other than sports games outside of ebay.

$75 isn't much money, and given that it's from a store it's not that surprising. However, the original question was "Is that a good deal?" and the answer was "no, probably not". For some reason you felt the need to debate this. At the end of the day, he's got a Saturn and that's great.

Arkanoid, you probably don't want to be talking about pirating games here. Even for older consoles, it isn't well received...

Oh sorry. Though if I do find an actual copy of a game I would buy it instantly but instead I'm tripping over copies of NFL 2K1.

But you have access to the internet, right? So where the hell is the problem? I don't have a CC as well and have an ebay account, don't know if they changed the registration requirements lately though. If I would rely myself on local game stores, I'd go with crappy loose pal Mega Drive cartridges of FIFA 1994 and Sonic 1. ^_^

There are also a lot of online shops to order games from plus this forum's marketplace, so there's actually no need to burn games but to "save money" (or whatever).

As the others have said, 75 USD isn't a great deal especially for a domestic unit but on the bright side you are now in the Saturn club! Get your US machine modded to play Japanese software and invite yourself to your very own arcade thanks to all the Capcom, SNK and shooter games available for the Saturn.

Yes the Saturn is a great console indeed. It's very overlooked probably due to the lack of RPGs and the clusterfuck of really bad games. I think I'm just gonna purchase a PAR instead of getting it modded.
