Over the course of my life i have signed up to test a couple of betas, only to never hear anything back. Well the kind people at Id have just sent me an email asking me to help beta test Quake Live! Sorry, ive never gotten to beta test anything before, so im a little excited.:icon_bigg
Damn, I signed up to test it when it was announced and didn't get anything, wah. Right now it's closed beta.
I got into a few betas. Basically the point of them for gamers is a free early sample of the game. But if you were a professional tester at a developer, it's not anywhere near as fun as being a gamer in a public beta.
The biggest problem with Quake Live is that its Windows only, plus it takes a lot longer to install then I'd like for a quick browser game (ie, its not quick)
Yeah, the installation is not quick at all. But the game is still fun (i got invited a few months ago, and i totally forgot about the game ).
Yeah, i installed but havent really had a chance to try it yet. The installation didnt take THAT long, lol.
I'm buddies with one of the guys who made step charts for the in the groove 1 and 2 arcade games. His twin brother is in the game credits an there's a picture of his twin when the game is in demo mode showing the creators. I was invited to beta test itg2 doubles charts back before itg2 was released in the arcade but I didn't play doubles back then so I declined. Yay....so exciting....
every couple months i get a call from M$ to beta test (playtest) some games. so far i've been lucky enough to play: Castle Crashers Gears of War PC Halo 3 Some RTS of which I can't remember the name...
