Just had my hands on a PSP!

  1. As Yakumo and Assembler mentioned, pics of the hardware itself isn't an issue - hell, some vendors of dev equipment have pics of the stuff right on their websites (i.e. SNsys). The thing that could cause problems would be pictures of the stuff in use, dev code, the software, any documents, company info/logos/documents, info on the vendor, etc, but the machine itself should be quite fine. There's enough pics floating around on the internet of dev equipment from the GBC on, and I've never heard of any sort of crackdown on that.

And yes Cahaz, PSP has a joystick - if you can find a pic of the unit, it's the thing in the lower left that looks like a speaker.

We're talking about showing pictures of a dev PSP there.

I agree that it's not much, and it's not going to harm Sony.
But a contract is a contract. Having this contract broke by one side, especially before the system launch, might piss them off.

I have a development DS here and it's covered with stickers from both Nintendo and the publisher. You never know how paranoid they are.

that thing? whoa, it look really badly placed, look at it!
why does sony really whant to keep the direction pad (that is really badly designed for fighting games btw.) they could keep it , but change the analog place to the direction pad one,imo.:smt011

well, anyway, maybe nocomply could say us if the joystick is really so badly placed, as i think . :smt040

  4. Going on what people had said messing with the unit at E3 and such, apparently the placement of the joystick, while odd-looking, actually is easy to use and feels natural, or something. Me, I'll believe it when I can try it for myself.

Dont worry guys as I said.. I will make sure all is ok before pics appear.. if pics are not allowed.. I will just answer any questions etc.. and descbie it as best i can, but Will ask about the pics on monday... and yeah.. any pics will be showing NOTHING running..! just the Mini Dev PC and the Psp.

OH and @ adam-james ... .I Think as far as I can remember it doesnt say TEST.. i would have noticed it i think. Im pretty sure it said PSP.

As for the Analog Joystick... Not only does it feel odd and sticks slightly.. (as I said... may not be final build quality) It feels like its in the wrong place. For example... imangine your holding a PSP, relax your hands.. look at your thumbs, they naturally point upwards, So it would have made better sense to stick the analog stick at the top rather than the bottom, because at the bottom when your using it, you dont have hold of the machine with any of your left hand..(because your hand has moved down) just your thumb and tips of your fingers.

    Urm.. if that makes sense!?

    Hey,
Just wondering so the actual unit does not have UMD drive?

If it does how does the drive open and how do you slot the UMD in?
