I remember from the years of watching, it seemed to be getting worse. Anyway, hopefully my last thread on this subject, as I know Ive made it at least once or twice over the years.

How bad is it now? Ive got a semester left at University, and really, really don't want to head straight into graduate school. Any specific programs I should look into that are still trustworthy? Thanks guys

To be honest, if you just do it as an inbetween then it's really not that bad. They pay is more than decent, most of the people I know who are doing it quite like it and make enough to have a decent lifestyle. Look into AEON, I hear they're pretty good employers.

It really depends on what you want to know about. "How bad is teaching" is extremely broad. There are:

    -conditions
    -pay
    -job availability
    -flexibility
    -experience to gain

    etc.

Most of the people that pick you up abroad and bring you over will work you to the bone. 40 hours of teaching a week for the same money other people get for teaching 25 hours a week. And they wonder why their turnover rate is so high.

To an extent, yes, but obviously for the most part no. When I was working in the office of a school, at least for business English, switching a teacher was a massive no-no. Even substitutes were frowned upon. You know that whole lifetime slavery thing they've got going. Maybe it's a bit more lax in different styles of teaching.
