Surely you are more likely to go in and ask for a "Double data rate three synchronous dynamic random access memory, one thousand and sixty six million transfers a second, eight hundred megahertz input output bus clock, unbuffered, non error correction code dual in-line memory module" :110:
Oh yes, I have encountered such customers in the past - never underestimate an audiophiles ability to turn a simple purchase into a protracted argument. :banghead:
I used to work at PCWorld (Large computer store chain in UK) And this 10yr old kid would come in looking for computer parts. He would want to know all the clock speeds and transfer rates, Then quote reviews to us. It was rather creepy from a kid that couldnt even see over the counter.
What was? That he knew more than probably 99% of the people who worked there? ;-) I went into PC World recently and got greeted by Juan whom I can only really describe as Dracula's man servant. Couldn't understand a bloody word he was saying! Oh, when I finally DID understand some, I realized he was trying to sell my friend Norton, which I promptly told him was an awful piece of bloatware. Unlike his colleague in the business section who agreed, he proceeded to argue that it is awesome and that you WILL get a virus if you don't buy it!! Ahh, I love listening to the bullshit PC World employees spout.... then going elsewhere to actually buy something!
Any body go to CES this year? How about AOU? But not before making THE BEST SAILOR MOON BEAT'EM UP EVER!!1 :icon_bigg Best Buy in the US is wonderful for this type of past time. My friend and I are both pretty AV savvy and sometimes we go to the TV section for a good laugh. -ud
I do this everytime I go into worst buy just to hear what new BS they are spreading. I still remember when my local one was telling people "yes even with a cable/satellite box you will still need to purchase a digital converter box for the analog/digital switch over"
"why don't you just use mame?" "There's nothing like playing with a real controller" ....And then he has a video of him playing mame with a real arcade controller..... They could have covered that topic a little bit better. I'm really curious how he got the nes and genesis pads working at the same time that was really cool.
