Just seen this on the BBC website... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8024182.stm Spreding the word of the supergun to the masses:thumbsup: Sorry if its already posted.
and remember kids "Rewiring old circuit boards can make them work with modern equipment" you heard it here first
Oh, you've got to love the BBC. Yes, it's a Supergun/JAMMA Test Rig and yes, you're nearly 20 years late to the party. I am quite interested in how he's managed to get that phone screen working with the DC joystick though.
Nothing in the written article seems to say anything about JAMMA or Superguns. Just about hacking controllers and emulators. Anyway, no one should spread Supergun's to the masses. The masses are retarded and shouldn't start buying arcade boards because they'll just break them or leave them sit somewhere forever. The average person should be told about MAME boxes if anything. Shit like the X-Arcade sticks with MAME is good enough for most people. Assuming their PC is powerful enough ofcourse.
Um, what?!?! Final Fight had two buttons - attack and jump. The article is typical "dumbing down" as seen on the BBC, so as to be accessible to all and not too techy. It's just a shame that it's a bit too generic as a result.
I guess it depends on where you were brought up. To me, when someone says "en ee ess" instead of "nez", it makes me think the speaker has an IQ in the double-digits.
Yup. Saying the letters is VERY american. Funny, though, that they are happy to say "aim" for AOL Instant Messenger and "you-foe" instead of UFO. A lot say "fak" for FAQ, which I hate. In fact, Americans seem to LOVE acronyms, so I'm surprised they don't say NES. EPCOT, NATO, SAT, JPEG, ROM, RAM, scuba, laser, and the wordy ones like DEFCON, amphetamine, RADAR, Interpol..... So Henners, which of those words do you pronounce as individual letters? As it annoys you, please in future refer to AOL messenger as A-I-M and enjoy going to the computer store and asking for some R-A-M!
Uh, I say NES and not N E S. Same with SNES and not S N E S. I'm in the US. I agree that saying N E S or S N E S sounds pretty stupid. I don't see how saying NES is like trying to say PS3 at all. Seems like a pretty nitpicky thing to get pissed off about though.
