Crisp salmon? Wonder how old it must be then.

What I meant was that tuna gets chewy sometimes, and salmon doesn't

I really like Eel myself. Especially the crispy (cooked) variety. Delicious.

ASDA do the same thing now, a fairly large bento for £3, often have one after work. Close as you to get to Jap food round here. Mainly a chinese invasion where I live.

I love sushi, but only certain kinds. The Japanese place near my house has something called a "TNT roll" which has salmon, hot sauce, cucumber, and some other stuff. I really like the hot sauce. Other kinds of sushi are okay and I'll eat them, but I LOVE TNT rolls. I realize that it's a very westernized form of sushi, but honestly I don't care.

    1) Avoid "spicy" anything rolls, that what you do with "left overs" i.e. not fresh fish

    2) Quality Tuna is like butter in texture

I love Sushi/Sashimi, I probably eat it twice a week on average. In fact, I think I'll go get some tonight.

Unfortunately, most of my favorites aren't available at most places. I really like Sanma (Pacific Saury), Ankimo (Monkfish Liver), Saba Oshizushi (pressed mackerel sushi), etc.

There's nothing that really grosses me out per se, but I'm not a huge fan of raw uni. I like it cooked in dishes though, I make a good uni risotto.

It isn't sushi, but I found a little Japanese Grocery nearby that sells frozen Hamachi Kama! (Yellowtail Jaw). Salt heavily and leave in fridge overnight wrapped in sake-soaked cheesecloth, then grill the next day. It's absurdly good, fatty and crispy. These are my own pics:

Raw hamachi is delicious also, of course.

Local Japanese grocery store here makes inexpensive sushi bentos everyday.

So what's everyone's favorite and worse?
Favorite - Ikura large salmon roe with raw quail egg in the middle.
Worse - Sea Urchin, literally tastes like the bottom of the ocean.

I like a standard futomaki with salmon, lettuce, cucumber and philadelphia cheese.
    Also, fried eel nigiri <3
