I was actually, my apologies. I know TOOL was specified a little earlier but DTL was as well and since the tool is a DTL model it seemed fair to just continue using DTL and not TOOL My apologies.
Hello all, I have tryed the PCSX2 Emulator but as said by PixelButts, my computer is not powerful enough. But I may try to test it again at the office haha. About ESR, I think that is works only with DVD-R and DVD+R disks, not with PS2 game cd (I may be wrong). As I am not a specialist of Dev tool/test tool, I read your comments with attention. But as a hardware lover, I would prefer to get the real test hardware.
Hello, I have installed PCSX2 on one of the laptop at my office (boring working day....) and I took some screenshots of the game. It works as bad as on my computer. Cut scenes plays well, sounds too (music and French voices). But when I start playing the game, I have some graphical glitches. I don't know yet if it is because of the PCSX2 emulator compatibility with the hardware I use, or if it is because of the game itself. If someone have an idea of the parameters I have to use to solve the graphical issues, feel free to help me haha. The Start Screen A cut scene The "Start New Game" menu An "In Game" view (with graphical glitches) Another "In Game" view A cutscene using In Game grahpics Anyway, the story looks so bad hahaha. I have never watched the movie but this game don't give me the will to do it ! haha
Thanks for the advice Gladiator5, but I prefer to test it with the real hardware, to be sure of what I have on the disk
I probably can, but I don't want to modify the unit I have. I have tryed another PS2 game with PCSX, to see if the graphical glitches are still present and it is not the case. I hope that these glitches are not caused by the game itself.
PCSX2 is very very annoying. It's nowhere near perfect and requires tinkering to be able to get a game running well (I cant get Rez perfect for sounds at all). Also sent you a PM as I'm curious about something
How about ripping the disc and playing the game with OPL? Even if you do not have a HDD unit, you can use a USB device or even a SMB share.
Hi, It may be an option, but I need to create a Free McBoot memory card then. I think I can try it. Thanks for the advice. Anyway, I have solved some of the issues I had with PCSX2. The background is now visible. But I still have texture issues on all the characters and monsters. Anyway, it is playable now, but it is a bad game haha, really bad. I will keep you updated
Ok. Get fmcb. Make a disc image. Then either boot the game up with opl from usb or convert the disc image to a dvd image with ultraiso, esr patch it and play.
Slowdown there. Things take time as people have other things to prioritize as well. AFAIK he already has a disc of the game (hence a backup was made from it for PCSX2 to play or play straight from the disc) but there's no need to rush things too much. While yes he could just do a quick setup off a ps2 to grab some footage and content, it may be in the best interest to get the special hardware going (and use PCSX2 for the time being til proper hardware is in working order). You'll get your chance to play it soon enough, as I myself am waiting for that opportunity and will definitely take the chance once available. People like to take their time with things. Patience is a must. For instance: I'm still working on a page for tcrf for the trial of rockman x7 and I'm taking my grand old time with it (emulating this is a nightmare is my main issue). (I hope this didn't come off as a rude post. If it did that wasn't what I was aiming at)
Oh I'm not waiting to play it. I just think that he's making things seem harder than I think they are. I'm not a big ps2 fan so this game holds little interest to me. Right now I'm into finnishing some dreamcast and mega drive games that I've wanted to for some time. I am grateful for the screenshots and this thread as it is somewhat entertaining to me since I seem to be attracted to obscure and weird things for some reason.
Haha thanks guys for this interest. But as PixelButts said, even if they are a lot of solutions to play the game on PC or on a "modded" PS2 system (or with the memory card boot trick), I still prefer to test it on the hardware it was designed to work on. This is the only way I will be sure that the games work as it should be. I am a little bit busy at work now (going to kazakhstan, UK and Mexico in the coming weeks) so I will not have a lot of time to work on it, but it will give me time to get the correct hardware. Anyway, you all help me a lot and I thank you for that ! I also have a proto of Tyranosaurus Tex on gameboy that I want to backup (and few N64 protos) so I will be busy even after work haha
