Right, you need the euro scart one.

Yes, that is pretty much what you will need. The X-RGB is a japanese product to begin with. The Mini-din cable is running in 21 pin rgb which, as you already know, is not the exact same standards as EU rgb scart. That cable will make it so that it is PAL RGB compatible.

Alright got the Hanzo and Kenzei, really quick shipping and picture is great at first, but there is a problem when in use with the XRGB mini which i think is a SYNC issue. I wasn't getting a picture till i set the sync level to "26" and stays solid for most of the time, but i notice the screen jumping every min or so and sometimes a static line will pop up for a split second (side effect with sync issues). Kinda bothersome :(.

    This is my setup:

XRGB Mini Frame meister @ v1.10 firmware
Mini Din to Euro Scart Adapter (Passive - No LM1881)
Hanzo (VGA Mode - No scanlines enabled)
Kenzei (Set to use +5V from the Hanzo)
1 ft SVGA and 1ft. Audio Cable (For connecting the Hanzo to the Kenzei)
0.75 meter IXOS cable (For connecting the Kenzei to the Euro Scart adapter)

Have you tried changing cables? Kenzei needs a fully wired VGA cable to be powered. I recommend to use an AC adapter with it, more reliable. What about Hanzo, is it working fine on a VGA monitor? Also please check the jumpers again for the output mode. It's weird I haven't heard that problem before.

What TV brand are you using? I've noticed switching between displays often yields very different XRGB settings. I still haven't gotten my 32X working on my Vizio but it works fine on my Toshiba.

Hanzo+ Kenzei setup works flawlessly on old Sony CRT TV with Scart.

Double checked the jumpers, still the same result. I didn't know there were such things when it came to VGA cables. I got another VGA cable hanging around but its build seems to be lower quality, i'll give the other cable a shot later today anyway and also check out the hanzo directly. When i get the AC adapter (should come in anyday), ill plug it in and check out both cables.

I'm using a Sony Bravia 40" (KDL-40V3000). Every other console i have hooked up runs perfectly at sync level 16 (Sega Master System 1, Sega Genesis/CD/32x combo, Saturn, SNES, N64 and PS1)

What scart lead are you using?

*EDIT* Alright i decided to just go ahead and check it out. I plugged in the Hanzo directly into my TV and the Hanzo seems to be working.

So i went ahead and checked it out the Kenzei again with a different cable and still the same issue with sync, it's probably that both cables are not fully wired. I guess all there is to do is wait intill i get the AC adapter to see if that fixes the Kenzei setup.

OK, thanks for the update. It's probably a power issue. It needs steady 5v...
Btw Sync level 16 is ideal.

You should be able to tell if it's getting power by the led though right? You could also check with a meter to see if the power pin is connected in the vga cable. The SVGA cable that I am using works fine.

Thats strange. I have an older Hanzo that I modded to output voltage. I think my LEDS are about the same brightness. It could possibly be an issue with the Hanzo voltage output.

I'm pretty sure you will fix this with an external AC adapter.

Why he needs a Hanzo Kenzei and Framemeister to connect a DC ?

Because Framemeister has no VGA input. Framemeister upscales the DC video to a higher resolution and outputs HDMI signal.

Oh what do you know! :D. I got my AC Adapter in the mail today (After 35 business days...). Soon as i plugged in the AC adapter and flipped the power select switch on the Kenzei ... the LED shined like no tomorrow compared to using +5V from the Hanzo! (Good sign). So afterwards i plugged everything in, powered on the DC and shes running at sync level 16 with no issues at all!, even when the Kenzei is hooked up to my daisy chained Bandridge scart switch boxes. This is awesome because all my other systems run perfect at that sync level too so no adjusting when i want to play some DC.

Hope this helps anybody that runs into the same issues as i did.

Great work beharius! and thank you, I am off to play some Street Fighter III 3rd Strike :).

So would i be correct in assuming I can use this device in this manner:

DC > Hanzo > Kenzei > XRGB mini?
