The colonel in front of one of the KFC's in Kyoto is always being dressed up as Santa Claus, quite funny actually.

The Colonel down here has been dressed as Santa for as long as I can remember. This year it was from November 1st!

I think it's time for that Something Awful Xmas card from years ago to make an appearance.

Christmas is time for any food, not religion.

    Also,

    KFC > Popeyes > Church's Chicken > Raising Canes

Just got back from Vegas and had Canes for the first time. Talk about fucking ultimate chicken strips, the batter is so light and flakey, its unbelievable.

    Nuff said.

There are borasters up there that blow fast food checken away. It's how the Col used to do it. But alas I won't beable to get their chicken for Christmas Eve, so Popeyes.

I'm not really a huge KFC fan, the strips and popcorn chicken are fine but the actual chicken ranges from bearable to nasty.

I only recent heard of this KFC tradition. My Japanese room mate told me about it. Kind of amusing.

    I prefer "the holidays".

Can someone explain to me why the Japanese eat KFC around Christmas?

When and how did this become a thing?

In the west, we traditionally eat turkey, but many Japanese have not even tried Turkey. As you may know, smaller living spaces are popular in Japan, so many do not have ovens that are large enough to roast a turkey. There are also no turkeys naturally in Japan, nor many farmed.

In 1974, KFC started using the slogan, "Christmas = Kentucky" around the holiday season. This may have been in response to many foreigners visiting KFC because ti was the closest thing to a holiday banquet. In 2010 McDonalds started serving a holiday meal, and yes, it's Chicken Nuggets.

I wish I could get away with KFC on a holiday. And use terms like "left-hand inverted" in public. >_> <_<

If you read the article it was in the UK.

Anyway, I don't like KFC at all. What I mean by that is that I dislike the chain, chicken is a meat that should be prepared carefully. Such high risks of poisoning from KFC.
I've been poisoned by Mc Donalds, and I've never returned to ANY Mc Donalds outlet after that. This is what happens when you employ 16 year olds to prepare food without any food handling classes beforehand.

Being level headed and living in reality, eating food with friends and family while having a good time. How else would it work?
