I see it's in $$$, do you guys really have KFC fries that actually look like chip shop, chips, or is the advert misleading?
I wouldn't have thought that it would make it over to the UK, chains seem to be much more careful about their image since Jamie Oliver went on his holy crusade. That said KFC does seem to be one that don't pander to that so much. That said a deep fried mars bar or chicken parmo is probably a hell of a lot worse than that thing, but they're not from chains. And WDK, I don't think I could just eat black pudding at yuletide, like Parris I have it with the fry up when I can afford it. Your right about it being good with apple/cinnamon sauce though! As my girlfriends been to V festival this weekend and thus eaten nothing but crap, I'm making her Toad in the Hole tonight. Being from Yorkshire my pud mix always rises!
Black pudding is awesome. I first gave it a shot during my student years in Liverpool and I loved it instantly - it's one of those manly tastes that doesn't cater much attention in today's sterile cuisine
They look like southern style wedges to me. I do hate fries, especially when you go into a 'fish & chip shop' and get served about 10 of those pathetic little things as a portion!
That's freakin' disgusting. While we're at it why don't we slap it between two slices of chocolate cake and deep fry the whole thing in corn dog batter. Blagh
That's a true punch in the face of any vegetarian. I'd probably eat one to find out if the proteines and cholesterine kill me instantly. In case I survived, I'd have another. And another. And another.
I love black pudding and always have although not sure when i first tried it but it could be from my mum and dad when i was younger as they love black pudding. This new KFC thing though looks like something i'd fashion together from what i had in my fridge/freezer as i sometimes make wierd food stuff.
I prefer Black Pudding cold from the fridge. If you think about it, that KFC thing is probably only as bad as a chicken and biscuit meal (biscuits are kind of like savoury scones).
What I meant by detesting with the black pudding, was with putting it in lettuce and all that, when basically in my mind you enjoy it on its own. And the next day you can put it on rye. But yeah, I could eat it at other times than just at Yuletide. But it has traditions when it is eaten at Yuletide, and my father has said to me, that the old Viking ate it at Yule too.
Had to look up black pudding, but its the same as/is blood sausage. Good stuff, living on a farm I grew up having it at holiday meals. And yes I would agree with the acquired taste statements, the missus doesn't like it and I didn't tell her what it was till the next day.
Another fan of black pudding here. I love the stuff but can't get it in Japan :crying: So whenever I go back to the UK the holly rule is to eat as many chipshop sausage dinners, Spanish omelets, chicken fried rice with curry and from stores, banoffee pie (sp?), scotched eggs, black pudding and loads of chocolate. Needless to say that I'm always a fatter person by a large way when I return from the UK. Yakumo
mmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh black pudding *drool* how can you possibly not like it? with some garlic and mustard... awesome!
Yeah in Denmark we call it Blood Sausage too. and it taste FUCKING good Sacrilege ! ! ! ;-) garlic and mustard ? eew , blood sausage should be eaten with sugar, cinnamon , syrup or apple sauce. It is not a sausage , it is a "sausage" which is filled with blood and other stuff. and it is boiled.
Amererican/Canadian KFC = Puke Chinese KFC = Not exactly sure why, but it sure as hell taste better.
Chickens get more crap pumped into them there. Whatever i dont care macdonalds chicken wings in Hong Kong are great even if the meat looks kinda nasty.
