wow after seeing it in motion at a better resolution i'm even more impressed... i wonder for what console will be out... i doubt PS3... sony stated that they doesn't want 2d gameson their machine... 360 maybe? or maybe even more shoking a virtual console only release?
PS3 is still possible after all if what you said was true SSFIIHDR wouldn't even be coming to it in any form. And from what I understand BlazeBlue (basically Guilty Gear X3 with a Garouized cast) and battle fantasia are coming to PS3 and 360. So yeah
At the moment its only PS3 same with BlazBlue and there both planned for release at the end of the year or early 2009. Theres been no mention of 360 yet but expect it at some point
I'd like to have this game released for 360/PS3, perhaps as a XBLA/PSN game (although I'd love to have it as a standard dvd or blu-ray). I've never seen the Wii as a suitable machine for standard fighting games (Smash Bros apart), as it'd feel weird to control them with the Wiimote (the classic controller would be the answer, but that's some extra cash you have to spend).
Can't remember the websites but it was mentioned in them all that Blazblue is PS3 only at the moment. I've read the same for KOF12 and there was even a release date for early 2009. I recommended searching around on the srk forums.
I'm glad to see this. Atleast some people see 2D games are still fun to play and look good with effort put into it. Probably grab it for PS3 at some point because the 360 just doesn't cut it for fighters.
True but the news didn't come from them anyway. Plus there are some good well known fighters on that site like Justin wong, Calipower etc. I'm sure there will be a link on there some where though. Speaking of srk everyone on there seems more excited about KOF 12 more than SF 4. Looks like this time SNK delivered
Re: the SF4 video posted on this thread - Hmm. Not sure about that Ryu expression before the fight, he looked like Violent Ken. The gameplay looks somewhere closer to Street Fighter EX than the classic 2D, and closer to the Zero series than SF3. I'd like to see a better quality playtest of it. It looks interesting. KOF: Bleh. It looks OK, but I'd like to see what evolution has taken place. Very little, by the looks of it.
There's Disgaea 3... the backgrounds are 3D, but all of the characters are still 2D sprites. The sprites in KOF looks a bit more impressive than those in Disgaea, so I'd say its chances should be pretty good.
:fresh: What one region of sony might say does not dictate other regions. Ps2 was loaded with 2D software and man someone must have fooled me because SCEA had no problem letting odin sphere through. SCEA might not be a firm supporter of 2D but they do let them get though. What they do not like (and nobody seems to give them credit) is them not letting companies like SNK Playmore who push through simple ports of NeoGeo games (1 game per disc) for full price. Games must be budget price or bundled. Just some info.
