A very kind fellow who owns http://www.guardiana.net/ sent me a load of Korean hardware and software images. He's allowed me to share some with ASSEMbler readers apart from all the cool Mega Drive stuff. So sit back and enjoy the wonderful world of shitty built Korean hardware.

Master System 1 & 2 plus other stuff. Notice the text on this Master System 1 is in Korean.

Another Master System 1 shot but this time with English text on it.

Some Master System software. Notice that it's the same size as the Japanese software.

    Korean NES
    [IMG]

    The Korean NES
    [IMG]

    Korean version of Zelda
    [IMG]

    Korean SNES
    [IMG]

Some Korean SFC carts. Funny how the machine is called Super Nintendo but the cartridges are Super Famicom and SNES  This Ghouls & Ghosts one seems to be based on the PAL version design.

    Back of the cartridge
    [IMG]

Samsung Saturn with the famous none working reset switch.

Samsung Saturn pad. How cheap and nasty does that look?

Samsung Saturn Sega Rally. Cheap isn't even in it as far as design goes. All they did was erase the Sega logo and paste a Samsung one over it.

    GameBoy
    [IMG]

I hope you enjoyed them. Will post more in the future.

They are all official licensed items reproduced by Korean companies.

I love the fact that the NES box has the same cheesy family picture, but with Koreans on it. Hilarious!

I guess it must just be a universal theme.

Dude, this is absolutely great stuff. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
What I really like is the funky red crosspad on that SuperFami thing.

But I'd like to ask something. Weren't Japanese imports and products illegal in Korea? Why does Nintendo have Korean versions of stuff?

I noticed that, too, when I saw the picture [IMG]. I just find it wierd that the systems have to be produced in their country rather than import them from Japan. I guess its because of tariffs or something like that.

Done but I didn't really want to since the pictures were given to me.

I was thinking just the same thing

Because he asked me not to. He has plans for them. Here is just one picture of a Korean Thunder Force 4. I won't be posting anymore though. Enjoy !

There are a few Korean NGH releases, most are other region. There are more Korean MVS games, some most notably Samurai Spirits 3 (Fighters Swords) & Last Blade (Last Soldier) getting name changes.
