Lair was never a saving grace for ps3. MGS4 & FF12 will be the saving grace for ps3. I still think the system will do well this xmas thanks to ratchet & clank (will get high marks) as well as Uncharted: Drakes fortune. As a side bonus to thoes who bought lair and own a psp. You can play the game via remote play (it remaps the input to the psp's analog stick). Some say it actualy plays better this way. http://www.pspfanboy.com/2007/09/02/confirmed-lair-can-be-played-on-psp/ Just you. Warhawk is beautiful on a large scale. It's funny how a multiplayer only game is getting praised all over (shadowrun got pissed on for being a multiplayer only game).
Mmm... I think this holiday season is going to be dominated by two titles and two titles alone: Super Smash Bros. Brawl Halo 3 And my bad Barcode, I misunderstood you. I thought you meant in terms of sales/marketshare. I agree completely, Nintendo is nowhere near on top right now, and I don't forsee them getting there in the near future (at least, not with their current lineup). Right now the 360 clearly has the better library out of the three, and I do not see this changing for at least a year or two.
yes, despite a mediocre start, the 360 is on its way up. It offers unparalleled content for a console - more versatile than any before it. Shame that the machine's manufacturing smuthered the 360 brandname so badly that it's synonymous to "unreliable" What's the point of playing a game designed to be played at 1080p on a much lower resolution? Imagine someone hooking up their new PSP Lite via TV-out to a 480p compatible tele in order to play Lair thru RemotePlay with the PSP as a controller. Tragically funny!
Yeah, that was a dumb mistake on MS' part. Though once they get those Falcon chips out or whatever, I imagine the sales of the system will start climbing any further as the systems prove to be more reliable. I just hope the LE Halo 360 has one of those in it (since I'm trading mine in for one of those).
The Lair remote play sucks donkey balls: becos the PSP lacks L2 and R2 buttons you cant brake nor land. Actually you'll be always stuck in the initial training level (which asks you to press said buttons) unless you switch back to PS3 and fix that. Warhawk is multiplayer only? no missions at all? and what about AI? dont tell me is bot-less like Halo... Lets hope so, altought since its a premium with a custom paintjob it wont have the falcon chips unless the premium does. The real point behind remoteplay is that you'll be able to play your PS3 using your PSP from pretty much anywhere in the world as long as theres wifi around. Dunno, thats what I heard, and it sounds pretty cool:nod:
No doubt, but what I meant is that I like the concept... The implementation now, better wait and see how good it is.
well it would be ideal for something like monkey Island i guess. Or any non-time based game with puzzles
I think lair via remote play more just proves the concept then being a solid game at the moment. It also does show developers are interested in the feature and will find ways to implement it. Imagin a game having side mini games you can play that can take lag that will let you progress and further your game on the ps3. XB360 is probably the best console avalible but it's build quality is starting to really turn people away from the platform. If this keeps up it could be a huge problem for microsoft (if publishers sees enough people shifting from 360 to ps3, they also will). Still I quite enjoy how XBLA is making a mockery of the wii's VC (sucks XBLA wont have nintendo games, yet it's still getting other games with online play at a cheaper price). Barc0de, Same could be say for playing games on the psp. Why play console games on a handheld. Truthfuly tho for some games this could be great, specialy for more laid back games like golf and etc where it wont matter as much. As well the game sadly will still look vastly superior to any game on the psp it self. Shadowlayer, Warhawk is multiplayer only (no bots, no single player mode, etc).
I think they could fix the delay in remoteplay to a point when is not such a bid deal. Most hotspots today allow you to stream video in VGA in real time, while the PSP runs at subVGA (480x272) and the controls dont need that much data. That sucks...
I haven't seen this happening... nor heard of it. If someone buys a 360 they pretty much do so after being reassured of a 3 year warranty.
I bet they realized how broken the game was and didn't want to waste time creating an entire campaign. And programming bots would be WAAAAAYYYY too much work... Look at this ----->>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-aU-HXQ-gw How could that possibly be fun??? Look how bad it controls. And the dude is shooting at stationery objects! Now imagine trying to shoot other human players flying around. It'll be impossible to play. LOL check out that landing!
It's showing up on other message boards recently actualy. MS build quality is really starting to piss people off. Neogaf has a great list of members and how many 360 they've gone though. It's a pretty ****ing huge list. Actualy they have commented that insted of wasting time on making a medeocer single player experience, they rather put that time into focusing on making the multiplayer better. It seems to somewhat have worked since pretty much most sites are giving raving reviews for a multiplayer only game. I personaly have the game but due to a move i've yet to find time to play (bestbuy in canada had the game on sale for $40 and my friend only wanted the bluetooth device, so i got the game for a mear $25. ) Jesus christ dude. Talk about a old ****ing build. Second never base any opinion on someone playing a game at e3. Some of the worse people at games end up playing there (i've attended 3 times, i've practicaly fallen asleep having to wait to play a game because the people in front of me could not figure out a damn thing on a simple game). -- edit -- Check this videou out http://www.gametrailers.com/player/24451.html
360 death has pissed me off a lot, but at least repairs were free. Now, I know a lot of 360 owners will probably explode if there system dies this month.
I'm talking about in the retail world. Which is one of my three places of work at the moment. ;-) 360s still sell. They still sell a lot. PS3s sit on shelves. They sit on shelves a lot.
There are plenty of major PS3 releases in the pipeline. For example Little Big Planet, Killzone 3, FF13, Warhawk, GT5 are some of the exclusives I am looking forward to off the top of my head. I would say the PS3 has more exclusives on the way of note than the XB360 currently. Before it perhaps, but all the features that the PS3 has combined with the PSP connectivity which actually is useful and relevant (hello GC & GBA combo) makes it much more attractive. Even if you include what is available on Live, it's not competing well with the XB360 any more. One disappointing game doesn't kill a console. They can probably patch the controls too, which might sort out most of the complaints I have read in reviews.
They'll explode just like I did when I received my SA2 copy 3 days late just to load it on the DC and see it explode in a cloud of grey smoke:crying: I was so mad I started breaking shit all over the place:rambo: Anyway, jp how many jobs you have?
