I know, boo was posted on Kotaku but, it was on Twitter beforehand.. Anyway only noticeable change is the sticks and button placement. View attachment 3446
The idea is nice but I'm still not sure on having to hold an entire tablet just to play on the computer... Meh, time will tell.
The tweaked button layout looks a little more ergonomic. But I wonder, what's the square button under the d-pad for.
The computer? It's a video game console. I'm guessing one of the little white buttons is a wireless connect button. It also appears that the analog sticks are more Gamecube-like and less circle-pad-like than the ones they showed at E3 last year.
That's a bit crap isn't it? So what about miltiplayer games? Do you have to use the classic controller? Seems even more of a gimmick than the Wii did only this time it's going to be more expensive.
The pad seems to be seen as a 1 player thing... If you want to play the console (as a kid) but your parents are using the tv - you can play it on the pad. Single player RPG - inventory on the screen and you can touch what you want to use (potions etc) The latter seems pretty good, but we will see how it pans out.
Initially the console could only support one Upad and up to four Wiimotes. But I read somewhere that this didn't exactly receive the best feedback, so they've beefed up the specs somewhat to accommodate two Upads. If this is true and they are going to be available separately, I dread to think how much they'll be. I reckon they'll be somewhere around £59.99, but £79.99 wouldn't surprise. Not long to go until we know for sure now anyway.
It looks cheap, and for children. They need to sex it up, but who am I kidding final spec is out and it sucks. I am sure wiiu will selll ok, but it won't be a wiisports orgy like wiii sales were no matter how much they hope.
Looks Interesting but once again Nintendo will be left with a underpowered system once PS4 and XBOX 720 or whatever comes out soon after it i can see them going from 1st in sales in this generation to last place in the next they better hope this thing offers amazing gameplay to make up for the soon to be lack of power
Honestly, I don't care about the controller either. I love Nintendo, but I have no interest in the controller. It just does nothing for me. What really bothers me, though, is this obsession with digital distribution. I thought Nintendo would stay out of that game, but I was quite wrong. I have no interest in digital games (5+ years and I have never purchased anything from the wii shop channel) and thus have no interest in PS3,360 or any of the next gen consoles, including wiiu.
That controller is jaguar huge! I think nintendo is going to have to have a seriously amazing presentation at e3 to bring out the excitement for this one.
I think that's what they're going for lol Controller looks 100x better than that circle pad abomination from E3 2011.
