Hi guys! I've a PAL 0 model, that with heatpipes. Have dissasembled the dreamcast to clean it and restore original white/grey color with H2O2. Changed battery to a LM2030 too. Everything works great but now the color of led is orange like ntsc models instead of blue. Why? How can i change the color to blue again?

    Thank you!

Eh? All Dreamcast had an orange Led, ever the euro consoles. The only ones with blue LEDs were modded. Maybe you just forgot what colour your Led was.?

Also, it'd be impossible to change the color of a LED without complex coating. The color a LED emits is deeply linked to its light emitting process and microscopic structure.

@Yakumo, I've read that some early pal models had a blue LED, although this could be a simple rumour.

Would a heavily-oxidized light pipe change the light color enough to make the LED look blue?

I'd guess not. The light a diode emits is a "pure" wavelength, it's not made of other colors like your screen's purple, per example. Phosphorescent coating aside, but that's complicated enough not to be likely to happen by chance.

BTW, I've met the guy who discovered the blue LED once (the basis for the white LED, when you add a phosphorescent coating).
