I love me a good remake. This doesn't seem to be it though. I ll only replay Ocarina if they make me see next gen graphics and pants dropping sound.
This Zelda that was released originally for N64 has now 2 remakes! Zelda OOT on 3DS is great, with better graphics than the original for N64 and the older remake for GameCube.
I heard the 3D looks fantastic. I would play the game just because it works on a handheld, but 3D + updated graphics seal the deal for me.
OoT on the GC was definitely not a "remake", not by any stretch. Kind of bummed out this ended up having no new material. I was looking forward to even the slightest bit of new content. *shrugs* Maybe if Majora's Mask is ever ported to the 3DS, we'll get some of what was cut, but that seems doubtful. Though after seeing all that stuff added to Mario 64 DS, it's not entirely out of the question. OoT 3DS bothered to include Master Quest (which from what it sounds like, was only ever going to be "remixed" dungeons. I think the "real" Ura Zelda is really just an urban legend. I'm sure most of the new content ended up in MM), so it's sligly possible MM could get some previously cut features. Of course..this is all assuming MM is ever released for the 3DS in the first place. A recent interview with Eiji Aonuma reveals that they want to make an original Zelda for the 3DS before doing more remakes. (I will update with a link when I can find it, sorry! It was a recent story on ZeldaUniverse) It would be amazing to see some of the cut features from the DD version, but I'm not going to get my hopes up for something that grand. Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I didn't see another one relating to OoT 3DS.
Been enjoying remake a fair bit since I got a 3DS for xmas. Must agree with transatlanticFoe no new content is slightly disappointing but then again do we really want anything changed other than the graphics?
