I was watching a video on you tube where a guy gave his list of games he hates that people like and games people hate that he likes.

On his hate list was the entire Mega Man (and X) series. I turned it off in great disdain, up to that point I was agreeing with him.

Maybe it's a generational thing I don't know I have a few younger friends who love X but not the original series.

See I have a bias My first video game love was Mega Man 2 I remember my Grandmother and I going to a hardware store on a hot summer day to buy the classic yeah weird place to buy the game.

Fast foward a year and we have this scene on Christmas day



21 years later I can play that bitch blindfolded.


SO yeah...I'm a bit biased, at least when it comes to the Original Series and X Series. Legends, Zero, ZX I haven't played much of nor am I nuts about ZX and the EXE and Starforce games...that's not Mega Man not MY Mega Man anyway.

And really of the X and original series the only games I don't like are Mega Man X6 and Mega Man 7. My favories Mega Man games being 3,5,8, X1 and X4

SO,And I really want people who aren't fans to speak up too becuase I need to see the world through your eyes, thoughts/memories/why you love/don't love the blue bomber leave em here.

 

X7 isn't on your disliked list? At least I think that's the fucking awful pseudo-3D one on PS2.
The only ones I really like are 2, 4 (mainly cuz I played it so much as a kid) and X1-3...

 

if I play X7 with out an action replay then yes technically it should be on the list but With action replay and with X Unlocked from the start it's a fun game not the best but at least fun and entertaining..... besides this and X being a whiny bitch and Axl sounding like a little girl......

Mega Man 4 is HARD in fact I STILL find it hard 20 years later I was playing it the other day and had problems on Ring Man's stage. Mega Man 5 is much better... until Proto man's fortress EGAD! But They still don't have shit on Mega Man 9 DAYUM that game is brutal.

My Favorite X game is 4 mainly because of Zero no need to worry about losing weapon energy. Plus his side of the tale is more interesting than X's side of the tale.

X3 and X4 as well as Mega Man 8 are one of the reasons I bought a Saturn. I'm not Crazy about X5 because there is just too much to find but I do love the Opening Stage theme (which is also in the good ending)

 

Even if it was actually good, not being able to skip cutscenes would make it unplayable to me.

I used to have contests over who could beat the most bosses by using just the Mega Buster in 4...too bad we never took into account that someone could use like 3 energy tanks to beat Pharaoh Man. Actually, 4 was probably the start of the Mega Buster being completely useless against bosses, which I hated. At least in MM2 you had a change even with the default weapon.

 

I beat a few bosses in 5 with Just the buster. Gyro man and Charge man are probably the weakest against the buster.

But back to 4. Thanks to rapid fire Pharaoh man wasn't that difficult at all On an actual NES he is tough though. I don't know about 6 or 7 But in 5 and 8 the buster is pretty effective. Mega Man and Bass/Rock Man and Forte...that's another beast all together.

The less said about that Game the better....

I always use Item-2 because the order I play the bosses in I always have it by then.

I really like the Mega Man series. I was a big fan of the NES games. When I got a SNES I was a big fan of the Mega Man X games. I got Mega Man X the christmas of the year we got the SNES. And I got Mega Man X2 and X3 on birthdays following that. When I bought my Playstation one of the first games I bought for it was Mega Man X4. And Mega Man Legends I may have bought at the same time.

I didn't really get into Mega Man X5 so much, or X6. I did play through all of X7 actually. I didn't play through X8 yet. I plan to go back to all of the original series and X series sometime. I actually have the PS1 Rockman 4, 5, and 6 I picked up cheap awhile ago in nice condition.

Oh and Mega Man Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X were awesome. I'm really disappointed they didn't sell better and get sequels. Perhaps if they had ported them to PS2 or PSP didn't have insane piracy.

 

My first Mega Man Game was MM2.

But I really love almost all the MM games. However my Absolute favorites are X4 and Legends 1.

 

Mavrick Hunter X and Power'd up need XBLA and PSN reissues. I love Mavrick Hunter X. X4...this needs more Mad World in the background

The X Series is a bit more lopsided than the original series. I have no idea what I'm doing in X2 and X3...or X5...or X6..... X7 I can only play with action replay and X8 is hard and if you use action reply it become broken! (no damage code means some enemies also become unbeatable)

But X4 is all you really need.

I LOVE Mega Man 8 and I think I may be one of the few people that noticed Tengu Man= Storm Eagle

 

They need to do a MM-Powered Up 2 and Maverick Hunter X2. Those games really just came out at a terrible time in the PSP's Lifespan.

I really can't state how much I love Mega Man, but how terrible I am at it.

I still can't get pass like 2 bosses in, in Mega Man and Bass.

WHAT AM I FIGHTING FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR! I was just watching an X4 let's play so that is fresh in my head. Still I LOVE ZERO he has his emo moment in X4....but X7 we get X the Whiny little bitch. You can tell from X4 on wards that Inafune REALLY wanted Zero not X to be the main character seeing how over powered Zero is in X4 on.

GOD MM8 FUCK WILY 1 JUMP JUMP SLIDE SLIDE DIE DIE. Mega Man And Bass I can eventually get past a few bosses but I swear Astro Man's stage is unpassable as Mega Man.

I'll totally download Mavrick Rising as I LOVE the X series soundtrack.

 

I wouldn't necessary call it "Emo" I find that's a shallow point of view and description.

It's more of a moment of "Human Weakness" Which is considerably admirable from my point of view,for a Reploid. Which-"is an android with complete free will and thought processes comparable to that of humans"
He lost someone he cared about very deeply. Who wouldn't be distraught about that? And yet he was the cause of her death, so basically he's being very introspective and questioning what he's doing.




Of course everyone is welcome to their own opinions and everything. It really didn't help convey it properly because, the Voice Acting in the original game was terrible. TERRIBLE.

- I kind of wish that MMX did end @5 so Inafune could've sculpted MMZ the way he wanted it.

I'm still hoping someday Capcom will have the balls to do a MM-OG series games that effectively bridges MM to MMX. A game where MM,and everyone's fate become known.

 

Lets see what loose ends do we have left to address in Mega Man? OG to X then we have X to Zero in the form of the Elf Wars the Elf Wars could cover a game. Whatever the hell happens between Zero and ZX then the thousands of years between ZX and Legends.

The Poor Voice acting is exactly the reason why I'm seeking the Japanese Saturn versions of X3 and 4 and MM8

Considering this year is Mega Man 25th Anniversary I'm expecting SOMETHING maybe FINALLY we get a full retail console Mega Man game?

Yeah that's probably too much to ask.

 

Get this, I don't like ALL Rockman games due to one reason and one reason alone. Bloody re-spawn! Cheap and nasty game play design IMO.

Capcom seems to be shitting on Mega Man fans as of late. :/

One reason personally why I haven't imported X3/X4 and 8 for actual playing and instead collecting is because I really don't care for the opening theme songs used in the Japanese versions. They are good songs don't get me wrong. But just feel unfitting to me for the atmosphere of MM.

Just a personal preference really!

Also: Yakumo , yes! respawn lol. It makes for good farming of item drops in some places, but it can totally suck a lot of times!

 

I knew at some point there'd be something we'd gravely disagree on.

I like to exploit the re-spawning enemies.

I'm convinced Capcom hates us. BLIND RAGE over Street Fighter X Tekken and the 360 exclusive character snub if they were going to short us 5 characters at least sell the game $10 cheaper.

I have a feeling some stupid downloadable game will be the 25th anniversary Mega man Celebration game.

How quick Capcom is to forget Mega Man is the reason they even exist.

Yeah, as much as I love Cappy. I am inclined to Agree.
The whole SFXT thing, for those of us who have both systems isn't much of an issue. But it is if you prefer the 360(for whatever reason,from friends to preference) and want those characters.

MegaMan Universe, seemed like it would've been a good mash-up 25th Anniversary game or something.


Which also reminds me: HOLY BALLS, I forgot it's the 25th Anniversary of MegaMan. Ergo, I must either do some Megaman Music Arrangements/Remixes for this year.

Get together a bunch of friends and people I know in all the VGM Remixing communities and make an epic Album on short notice(srsly, Vampire Variations, which was A 25th Anniversary album of Castlevania music, took over a year to complete. And another album I worked on that is releasing through OCR coincidentally timed with the 25th Anniversary of the original Final Fantasy Game took over 2 years to make).

Or At least see if anyone I know anywhere is planning such a thing. (Besides Maverick Rising anyway, which is coincidental with it's timing. It's been in the works since early 2010)

 

I don't care about the Cats or Cole. I DO care about Bad Boxart mega man and Pac man.

Hopefully Namco makes good with Tekken X SF.

I'm always down for Mega Man Remixes I've yet to hear some really good mixes from 9 and 10 and 8 never gets any remix love.
