    @Ozone

    Wow put me down for one as well, I was interested in getting a Hanzo Like Device with HDMI out to simplify my cabling scheme.

    @All
    More on topic, was there any update on when SAG was going to be getting their GDROM Emulators from MNEMO? I've got a GDEMU but I'd love to get my hands on the "other" GDROM Emulator to do some comparisons, I've got plenty of dead Dreamcasts waiting for such a device.

    Thanks for the reply.

    This is awesome. I was planing to get HANZO or TORO. But after reading your reply, I decided to wait. I would rather have a kit that simplifies cable connection. I hope your HDMI Kit has some of the features of HANZO or TORO. Able to switch between 15khz RGB mode or the 31khz VGA mode and a Scanliner generator.

    Really looking forward to your HDMI Kit!

    Thank you.

    @OzOnE, I have been patiently waiting for more info on your HDMI port mod. Glad to see you have had success with other systems as well! It was pretty amazing seeing the N64 mod in action.

    Hey guys, newbie here but happy to be part of this great community. I purchased a USB GDROM but don't want to butcher my working cd drive. My question is, can I use any broken cd drive no matter the version number or do the drives change from versions 0-2? I want to mount a non working drive to keep the air flow. I have version 1 NTSC U dreamcast

    I just tested and it works fine for me. I get 14 files, ~343.3 MB and they seem non-corrupted (0gdtex.pvr starts with GBIX etc.).
    I'll try to get hold of a Windows laptop to check if it's a Windows-only bug.

    GD-ROM drive does not matter as you're just keeping the drive in place to help with airflow. Keep in mind that the console needs to be VA1 to work without issues.

    I have a question about regions with GDEMU. I patched a PAL GDI with GDEMU_SD, it applied the normal JUE letters and For USA/Japan/Europe strings, and then my PAL GDI started booting on my NTSC-U Dreamcast as expected; however, if I use a PAL CDI that is region free, my DC says I need to insert a disc. If I use a region free NTSC-U CDI, GDEMU boots it. Does anyone know why a region free CDI would work if burned to a CD-R but not in GDEMU? Is it doing an extra check of some sort to determine the original region of the disc? The CDI and GDI patches for being region free appear to be the same, so I'm a bit confused.

    Not really no. You got the latest firmware? GDEMU doesn't perfectly represent the CD-R that would be produced by a CDI, this is why the retail bleemcast dumps don't work on it. Maybe your CDI is weird a bit. What game is it? What's the 2de session LBA? 11700 is stretching the standards, maybe GDEMU has issues with it.

    @ FG

    It's Phantasy Star Online Ver.2 (PAL) with a second session LBA of 45000. Come to think of it, maybe GDEMU doesn't like having the first session be a dummy MODE1 track. It boots data/data discs that have both tracks set to MODE2 XA Form 1, but IIRC the first session on this CDI is just a giant MODE1/2048 dummy file to pad the LBA to 45000. It could be that it's not a region problem at all, but I don't have a PAL Dreamcast + GDEMU to test with to see if the CDI boots in that configuration.

    Have you made that CDI yourself? Did you use my pack? Try making session1 a data track with its TOC linked with the second one.

    @MadSheep
    Those raw files point to the audio tracks of the disc, the track0*.raw! It's a legit file entry that points between track03 and track05, to coincide with the raw files.
    I can't support dumping them easily, but again you shouldn't include them in as raw files in the iso either.
    I don't know why they actually appear in the filesystem, but you may try to simply ignore it to see if it works without them (if it plays audio based on the track numbers instead of raw files). Looking at a cdi version of that game might give you insights on how to properly handle that issue.

    Yes, I made it myself back in 2008 using Echelon's binhack to apply the selfboot code to the IP.bin. I only stumbled on this problem because I couldn't quickly boot my GDI of the game, so I copied that CDI to the SD card since it was already region free. Now that I know region patching the GDI works, my guess is that GDEMU doesn't handle data/data discs correctly if the first session is a MODE1 dummy data. Oh well, it's an old and outdated disc, anyway. It would be nice if GDEMU supported such discs in general, though, but I think I've pestered DK with enough questions already.

    Well data/data games made with my tools do boot on gdemu. I didn't try my pso v2 release though. Maybe if the first track is neither audio or mode 2, Deunan assumes it's a single session data container for homebrew, roms etc.

    @OzOnE Will your HDMI Dreamcast mod have a fix for the squashed aspect ratio problem (as shown here - http://junkerhq.net/xrgb/index.php/Dreamcast)

    Also, how will you deal with 240p content, simple linedouble to 480p?

    @everyone - Are the USB GD-ROM emulator boards still difficult to get hold of? (as in, have to use expensive WU payments to the guy in Russia, etc?)

    Does anyone have the USB GD-ROM firmware updates, or are those still being controlled by MNemo?

    Don't know, although I don't think he's released any in quite awhile.

    VA0 works on USB GD-ROM as well.

    Burning saturn games, no background music

    I need some advise from you more seasoned users. I am having issues when burning/creating disc images from Saturn Cue/Bin files with multiple audio tracks. Once I have made a CDI image using discjuggler from said Disc images, all play perfectly but with no background music, there are sound effects but no music. Now I experienced similar things with some of my Dreamcast Rips.. However they typically had audio file type converters, Audio inject Executables & ReadMe’s grouped with each game which seemed to work. The audio files that are in the Saturn game folders are currently in Wave format, I have my suspicions that it is either the programme/method I am doing to burn these or it is a matter of converting the audio track file types.. But multiple google searches haven’t answered my questions properly.. So please people in the know help me out… Thank you !!!
