    Did you rename them to disc.cdi?

    Image layout:

    • Every image must be put in a separate folder
    • Folder names must consist of 2 digits, 01 to 40
    • All file names must be in DOS 8.3 format
    • The main image file must be called “disc” with appropriate extension

    A folly of errors. I didn't know about the disc.cdi deal. I downloaded GDEMU menu program and the SD creator, and have mostly figured them out now. Part of the issue I was having is that some of the ISO's I had were from the SD-ISO format.

    Ok, guess I missed a lot. Anyone want to catch me up on what's been done and what's available?

    I saw the sd one in the market. I shave seen posts about a hdd version. I think I recall reading about a usb one...

    Just picked up another dreamcast after selling my old one last year to pay bills, and would like to get something like this

    GDmenu v0.1

    Hi, there

    Here's the new version of the GDmenu!
    Download
    GDmenu_v0.2(15-09-2014).zip

    This version requires the new firmware 5.7.0 for the GDEMU.
    Download it and follow the instructions on http://gdemu.wordpress.com/firmware/ to install.

    The GDmenu now generates the list of games on the SD card before loading the UI
    and supports the Up/Down buttons on the D-pad to navigate the game list, instead of using the tactile switch.

    GDmenu_v0.1.png

    The navigation is way faster, which improves the experience a lot.
    The UI has been improved, by using a different font and better rendering method.
    There's also initial support to load the games list from a file so it allows customization of the names and no loading time.
    Making the list/image will be either integrated in madsheep's app or I'll create a simple app to do just that.

    The VMU save/load function was removed, so if you have a save on your vmu from the GDmenu, you can go ahead and delete it.

    You're awesome neuroacid!

    I've run into a problem. GDMENU freezes on the loading screen (with two dots at the end).
    Any idea what i'm doing wrong? I've updated the firmware to 5.6.0.

    Thank you for your efforts neuroacid :)

    Mine freezes just after that - on a black screen, but if I keep folder 01 blank and put the menu in folder 02 - and then run it from the dreamcast dash all works fine. Very impressive :)

    Same here, if 01 folder is used for GDMenu then it freezes. If used 02 it works but displays wrong folder numbers, like if 02 was the first and 01 was the last (empty).

    It's really weird when you test something a ton of times, accounting for many difference scenarios and don't find any problems
    but then when you release it every one seems to have problems :)

    I guess I'll go ahead and just remove the link for now, while I figure why it only seems to work with my GDEMU and DC.

    rebuild the disc image with a list.ini in the root with the following format:

    [GDMENU]
    01.name=GDMENU
    01.disc=1/1

    02.name=ALONE IN THE DARK - THE NEW NIGHTMARE
    02.disc=1/2

    03.name=ALONE IN THE DARK - THE NEW NIGHTMARE
    03.disc=2/2

    @neuroacid This update to the menu. I have a question. How will this work with codebreaker and a game.

    Example:
    01 is GDmenu
    02 is Codebreaker
    03 is Crazy Taxi
    .
    .
    .
    30 is Resident Evil 2

    How will the process be? User go boot to "GDmenu", select 02 "Codebreaker". After selecting the cheats, must the user press the "button" on GDemu or can the user go GDemu from the controller (Any button combo)?

    Thanks.

    Hi neuroacid,

    I just wanted to thank you for your great work. I’m also having the freeze but for now I’m using the menu from folder 02. Can’t wait for the next version. This makes gdemu pretty much perfect for me! :D

    HAH!

    ^^ funny you mention redump.org...
    had to be a bba-dump tool or summat.
    i've used 'jj1odms gdi-to-sd-dumper' ALL the way with A1 results.
    that said, DUMPCAST/DCEMULATION.ORG doesn't appear to have this relz?! (grandia II PAL) searched hi and low, tearing out my hair, found DIDDLY on this relz.
    say what you will about redump.org, the others have their OWN skeletons in the cupboard.
    TOSEC?
    now that's where it's at.
    didn't find any hashes there (confirmation) but the UI is different to what i last recall, and i'm NOT downloading mass=packages of dat files.
    ...
    it'll work itself out in the end! (trurip? never heard of em)
    ...
    stated on the item description (submission @) the possibilities of differing dump methods used, OR a completely different release version.
    trapper-disk/swap method (as stated in the linked thread above) is something i'll NEVER do, it's dangerous and not worth WRECKING disk drives over! :eek:nthego:
    [edit]
    typo.
    [edit again]
    as with common-sense, multiple dump attempts ALL aligned perfectly with one-another. (common practice to correlate results)
    the dump methods are different to the sd dumper, has to be...
