Thanks for the feedback guys! Like I said, still learning so I appreciate what everyone has said.

@Yakumo and RetroSwim: Thanks for the feedback on the lop-sidedness of some of them, it's something I tried to correct a bit when I was working on them, but it looks like I still need more work. I'm pretty sure there's a way to get a grid up while taking the initial shot... though I might be thinking of my compact backup camera, and this should sort that out. I'll work at being more conscious of it though.

@RetroSwim: Thanks for the kind words! Some of the images I worked on I played around with selective colouring (like I said, the resultant photos were a bit of a learning experience so I've played with colours in some of them), but I was pleasantly surprise with how the street art in Shibuya turned out!

@GaijinPunch: Yup, that's what I used for my 550D - the Adobe Raw plugin was easy to get to grips with, but I restricted most of my work on the basic tab and the correction tab as it had a profile for my camera and lens setup.

Sorry for the late reply MangledLeg, I've been bed-ridden with some kind of virus/flu.

I really like your photos. If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to give an opinion, but I'd like to see more if you have any :)

Definitely try to get your hands on that book though. It's soooooo useful, even as a reference as you improve. The title can make it sound like a "babby's first camra" book, but it really isn't.

I'm slowly going through my photos I took in Aso last week. Here's two panoramic shots that were put together from 6 photos each. They've been reduced in size for the forum. The original size is 12754 x 1864 at 150dpi

What a coincidence, I was on a trip in Japan a few weeks ago and took a photo at exactly the same spot:

    _1000108.JPG

That's taken with Lumix DMC-GX1, which I bought there. The settings are mostly on auto, resulting in ISO1600, 1/4s shutter time and f/4.5 aperture. Too bad I missed most of the settings until I hacked the FW back at home to include english menu... Still, the results were quite decent. BTW, the jpeg is in AdobeRGB color space - Firefox and Safari (?) should support color management and perform the conversion to monitor or default srgb profile.

@GP: That's.... a terrible idea. From even a pragmatic response, what happens if you're doomed to terrible internet access? Doesn't sound all that practical, especially if you're working on the move.

@Martin: Thanks mate :) I'm sure I can dig a few more up to post here.

@Yakumo: Great panoramas! When I've tried, once it gets beyond 4 shots the stitching gets a bit weird XD

You need to use Huggin. That's some powerful stitching software and best of all its free!

I was out on the town last night. So on my way from the parking area I took a few shots with my phone. It works really well in low light conditions.
