I remember we had one in the next house's garden but it was different. In winter is had red berries and summer pink blooms. However the japanese sakura trees don't have berries. That's why I was wondering if we did have them in the UK. It is nice to knwo that we do though.

Many thanks. It's taken with a Canon Eos 400D - pretty much default settings too.

It's a photo of Kawaguchi, Saitama-Ken, just North of Tokyo (next train stop is inside Tokyo region (Akabane)).

I have a couple of good videos to share, uploading to youtube now - have to wait for approval. A better way of sharing vids available?

I like the picture of the lake under the trees. Love stuff like that.

As for a better way of sharing videos, I'm afraid not unless you buy your own server space.

lol..when i visited to harajuku last summer with some (swiss-)frens of mine at a warmly sunny sunday afternoon, we saw a camera team filming down the "shôtengai" of harajuku. we took some pix of the set and left the place.

last night i started to watch the remake of "shutter", a horror-flick which tells of a chick who knocked over a women on the street in the middle of the night and afterwards get hunted by her soul through photographs (or so).
anyway..while watching the movie, which fore sure isn't one of the best, i suddenly remembered a location in the film if've been before several times. in a 2nd thought, i remembered back to the camera team which we saw once. so i quickly checked the pics i took back then and compared them with the set of the movie..see below:

Don't worry about girls mate. We get all of them down here minus the brown faced ganguro slags. In fact it's one thing I'm going to miss most about getting the train to work. All the sexy women! Still, I can now peer at them from behind the tinted glass of my car  Not the same though :-(

They are long gone. There's a few fake tan caked whores, but that's about it. The face paint is no more.

Really? Someone should tell the dirty sluts in Fukuoka city then

The first slut trend I remember was the gray or red dirty looking hair about 10 years ago. Down here all the "I think I'm cool but really I'm a poor dumb fuck" type guys think they're back in the early 80's with stupid mulits and MC Hammer pants  And their dirty bit that hangs to their arm look like bloody sport spice from the spice girls (if you remember them) but with clothes 10 times too big.

Man, if only they knew how stupid they look.

The only constant I've seen in the Japanese pop culture scene is the freak show at Jinguu Mae, and right next to them, the 50's greaser do-wop guys (they are still there). Young mens fashion hasn't changed much over the years (it is constantly different from western, and pretty unimaginative if you ask me). The women seem to take it to new places though. The short shorts and stockings really works for me.

Apparently a year or two before I came, wearing a slip/nightie (yes, underwear) was fashionable. A friend of mine was telling me as we threw a frisbee the other day. He said you could just set up a lawn chair in Shibuya and watch. Here's hoping global warming takes out a layer of clothing and decency for every iceberg it wipes out.
