I was nearly to call this thread "Hidden Gems" but it would leave out many games that want to show. This is a list wich those games that won't come out by googling "weird games for ps2" or like, you must search by the name or even the region code for finding any info (and sometimes nothing comes so we don't know everything from ps2 yet). I think is not necessary but anyway... i'm not providing any link to those games or supporting to download them. This is just for educational purpose, for gamers who enjoy different game concepts and visual culture from Japan. Bokura no Kazoku: Looks like some kind of social simulator, if you know something about it's gameplay please post. Böken Jidai Katsugeki Goemon: Yes, maybe you aren't aware but the Mystical Ninja has an adventure for ps2. Too bad no one seem interested in make a translation. Kappa no Kai-Kata: Breed this traditional japanese creatures. Sorry for the low quality pic, but there's little info about it. Kenka Banchou: Ok, you already may know this from PSP. But it does have a PS2 version and, maybe its because reminds me River City Ransom, but i like it. Nihon Sumo Kyokai: What can I say? Sumo for god sake! Too much fun with friends with it. More coming soon, if you know some game wich fit on this list just say it.
But of course! i knew had to make this list. I already knew the first game, but didn't heard anything about the sequel [º.º] Hope the developers fixed a little the controls with this one. PD: look at your inbox at stalkinginsanity
I'm not sure, never tried the other one I'm afraid. Ah, I will - my connection is being shonky (it drops out when it rains!) so I've been unable to test those files you sent me. I will soon though!
He didn't specify, so I assumed that provided they were unusual or weird and those ones are typically of Japanese origin so that it would fit on the list. Despite it having a US release it still seems to be fairly uncommon.
Sorry people, it seems I didn't explained well the stuff to post here. Please keep in mind I'm spanish, so i can write in english better than google translate but worst than you, native people. Back to the post, the two main concepts are WEIRD (talking about gameplay or visual style) and from Japan (developed by japanese studio and aiming for japan audicences mostly, despite having US or PAL releases) So Mr.Mosquito fit the description. This way we can talk of games US or Europe missed like Fire Heroes (NTSC-J/PAL release only): It's like budget version of "Firefighter: FD18", but with enough quality to take a look. Spiritual sequel to The Firemen (SNES/PSX) developed by the holy Human Entertainment?
Garouden Breakblow: The best graphics on PS2 one vs one games, IMO. Plus a old-school gameplay (your fingers will hurt) Bouken Shounen Club Gahou: <strong> Actually played it, but didn't really know what to do. This seems unplayable without knowing the language, but it seems you have to collect toys and classic nippon stuff (like a "nostalgic simulator" ?).
That first game there on your post is actually "My Summer Vacation 2" i believe or something liked that it was called. Looks familiar & i saw gameplay of it back in G4TV

My summer vacation is not the official name since the series has only had Japanese releases. It's called Boku no natsuyasumi (AKA BokuNatsu) and it was developed by Millenium Kitchen which also made Bokura no Kazoku. Working Designs tried to bring this game in North America.
I know it wasn't the official name, what i meant was i thought it was the unofficial name that many people called it or so. A few that i'd re-called names it "My Summer Holiday"
Koufuku Sousakan: Deka Voice: Poinie's Poin (japanese release includes english text!): Hungry Ghosts: Battle Construction Vehicles: Tori No Hoshi - Aerial Planet Code Age Commanders

That game Demolition Girl kinda reminds me of the arcade game, Dancing Eyes. Different kind of game, but similar idea. It's too bad Dancing Eyes never had a console port.
