    Hi

I would like to know that if it possible to record PS3 gameplay from the PC instead ? because there couple PS3 proto I need to record.

Here the picture of my custom build PC and Spec are powerful enough to recording PC games with FRAPS lag free.

    20130129_1707361.jpg

    Specs are

Gainward Nvidia GTX Geforce 680 graphic card

    I5 core CPU

As you can see there two HDMI Imput as marked in red circle. One HDMI on the motherboard and second HDMI on Graphic card.

So I wonder is it possible that HDMI conntected from PS3 console to PC Hardware which would display on the monitor and record it with The FRAP sofware during the gameplay ?

Or any software to do that so ?

    Thanks.

I don't know but I aways had the impression that HDMI ports on general consumer devices are output only.

Exactly for the purpose of preventing people of doing exactly what you're trying to do...

I know that I have done Recording PS3 gameplay using EZcap from standard cables through the USB port and it works, but quality is horrible to see.

I don't think it illegal to record gameplay and upload on youtube for good reason.

Those are all outputs, sorry. You need additional hardware to capture.

It depends on if you want a USB one or if you have an internal PCI-e slot. I use the Blackmagic Intensity Pro, since it has HDMI slots

It's not but HDMI point is making it hard to copy HD content such as Video from consumer discs. That's the real reason these ports exist.

Well really, HDCP is the main culprit in that hah. Luckily, with all the codes out there HDCP has become less of an issue. Even now, I was able to strip the HDCP part out for 50$ or so, now I can capture PS3 unhindered without a debug kit

HDMI traffic is encrypted.. MPAA and others insisted. It's a hack, but you can connect a component cable (analogue) from your PS3 to a TV and DVD recorder, record the gameplay then rip the files from the disc with your PC.... Just a thought.

Ahh I see but I'm not expert on that.

    My final decision is getting

    Elgato Game Capture HD.

I done that in 2009. Quality not bad but taking up all the disc space though.
