Hello everyone, Some of you might have heard/played Live Wire on PS1. This is what the cover looks like: PS1 Cover A couple of years ago I bought assets for this game from a contact who used to work in the videogame industry back in the late 90's. The game was originally planned to be released in 1998 but a major artwork redesign took place (more "cartoonish") before it was eventually released in 1999. Here are some screeshots of the beta version with the original intented art design. PS: I had to blur some elements for obvious identity protection. PS2: I have more artwork and a tech demo that I will be posting soon. Let me know what you think of this post! > Beta Version < > Retail Version <
The beta version seems more elaborate and polished than the retail version. Seems like they tried to go for an early try at cel shading somehow?
The beta pictures looks like a CG render, it looks way too nice to be produced from a PS1. I'm assuming those pics are mockups, correct? It would be interesting to see how that version ended up looking on hardware.
Indeed, those are just visuals as mentionned on the screenshots. I do have a tech demo that I will be uploading soon showing one of the levels.
I was wondering what that writing was about Thanks for the share, looking forward to the tech demo footage
I would like to make some things clear since I have been receiving weird private messages lately. 1) I will release more stuff if I want to. It is in my collection, not in yours. 2) Don't contact me to ask where I got this and that and how to get in touch with my source. I won't share any of my sources, none of your business. 3) Being on this forum doesn't make you entitled to have everything unreleased for free at your disposal just because "omg videogame preservation is important ffs!!!". I will release more stuff soon but for now I'm just pointing out the poor behavior of some members. You might not realize it but it doesn't really encourage people who have stuff to share with the community to do so, just sayin'...
