No, It's not. The reason I'm asking is that I vaguely remember somebody doing it but I'm not sure either.

I don't have the knowledge to build one so I'm going to get a GC IDE-EXI Adapter.

What are the methods to run the homebrew necessary for it to work? mini-dvd only?

It would be good to see any method that could replace the dvd drive.
Something like a memory card exploit.

Do you have any information in which formats this adapter loads the files? .mou works? .iso works?

you can use wode. it works with all gc games. you just need to know how to mod to add it to a GC. but im sure you can ask for a bid from someone who is more inclined. also if you have a spare wii, modifying a wii with a wode, just requires the included screw drivers. still 100% gc compatibility. only negative is no streaming audio. this affects like 5% of games. you can also rip the games directly to the hdd without a computer. wode is compatible with ISO's. wode is compatible with hdd,sd, and thumb drives. also you can use the existing GC drive too.

Yeah, i'm doing it to my GameCube. My wii already has the wiikey and loads anything from the wiiflow app.

Back to the gamecube, I heard about that "no streaming audio issue" but as I see original games still can stream this kind of audio.
So I could burn the remaning games that have this issue.

Would be possible to have Wode + Xeno modchip?
At this moment I have Qoob Sx but I must say that it sux.

May I ask why you want to this on the GC over the Wii?

Because those games were made to be played on GameCube ;D

It's part of my collection. Besides the gamecube is in my "old school" game room and the wii is in the projector/theater room.

Hey you can also use the WODE (for the wii) on the gamecube to load iso's from a harddrive. You can also use similar solutions i have a few websites i will link you (when i get home from work) to explaining how to hook the wode up to a gamecube and the other one's as well, i personally use a wode on my gamecube and i can assure you that it works amazing.

Would WODE + Qoob Pro work?

Pretty much whether I get another cube modded, depends on force 480p. I'm interested in the graphics improvement.

The problem is that Wode will not work with Audio Streaming games on the GameCube and as far as I see on their "support" forum they got all the money they wanted.

Everybody request this there and all they say is: "it's possible but we don't want to do that", someone that says that do not deserve my money, so WODE is out of question.

It seems IDE to EXI adapter is the best solution, I've droped a WTB request in the GC forum and I'm waiting for it to show up.
Hoping for a good soul to pop up.

There's a few sites and information around the net about replacing the DVD Drive with a compact-flash card (which would be compatible with IDE hard drives too). Would require you to get a board fabricated though.

I got an FPGA board years ago to try my own but I've been too busy and still am to try it :/

No offence but that is a unintelligent response.. But it is only because you haven't had a wode.
The Wode is very polished, only a handful of games support streaming(in fact I know of only 1 modchip that does support it, but it's for wii[sundriver]). There isn't anything out there that has the same compatibility, or is deving up to have the same compatibility. While you will catch me on the wode forums complaining, about the missed promises from the beginning. You coming in late in the game, were never promised anything and subsequently unaffected. Even though all new deving has stopped for it, nothing out there can or will equal it in the near future, possibly ever.

The Wode does all of this for gamecube:
1.runs iso games off of mini dvd's
    2.rips games to iso
    3.runs unsigned homebrew
4.reads HDD, SD and USB thumb drive.
5.Is compatible with every game, without glitch
6.Allows you to get round region protection
    7. Runs games at full speed(unlike the memory card hacks)
    8. Updates via sd card, and doesn't require jtaging, or hooking up to your computer usb.
    9. They still release updates, but only for bugs, not new features.

    The bad:
no streaming audio (can have streaming audio if run from a disc not ripped from the wode). Affects like 5 games per region.
no more deving for new features, only breakfix/bugs.

    What else do you need?

PS: the reasons why they wont add streaming/wifi/etc....
    1. The main dev guy left to work on the xbox360/a different project(X360key).
    2. They will have to redo most of the code, because it was only optimized for the functions it currently supports.
    3. They are really stupid and think that deving for the xbox 360(xode) is going to be more lucrative.

Full list of games that use it:

    http://wiki-scene.com/Audio_Fix

BTW, why would you want feature number 8? Since the devs from wode don't care to who pays for it?

The list has 75 games on it. The Game Cube have 640 games counting the japanese ones. So more then 10% of the games (without adding to the % japanese games) don't work. Bottom line, the wode is a piece of crap made by people that don't respect the scene or who put food on their table.

Just to add, as far as people comment on the game cube forum and aleomark review, the IDE to EXI plays every game including audio streaming games without a single glitch. The only problem is that it's currently sold out.
