GOOD: +Character Models look good +Many enemies on screen at once +Ability to gain new moves via the RPG system +Pretty cutscenes +Controls are easy to learn BAD: -Everything else besides the character models looks like ass or something from the Xbox. Graphics arn't quite next gen. Uses a annoying black bar mode like RE4 does. -Fog is thick and annoying. Can't see very far. -Enemies die too easily. Do not put up much of a fight. -Friendly AI is brain dead. My army actually stopped around this one tower and wouldn't come with me, even if I sent a order to come with me. Also, your soldiers are useless. -GOOD GOD THE VOICES SUCK! They didn't even try making it decent. Hell, the lip synching is the worst I have seen in a 3D game. It rarely matches up, and the characters sound poor and uninspired. -Music is annoying, repeditive. Eh, I wasn't too impressed. I was planning on buying it, but it seems more like a rental.
I wouldn't think lip synching was that much of a problem in 3D games nowdays. I mean, ShenMue had this CRI developed piece of software that would synch the lips to the vovels in the speech. Now how simple is that? I guess someone tried to save a few bucks and skip the good but licensed stuff.
Am I the only one having trouble with the camera controls? Holy god. I actually had some decent fun for what the game is, simply because I havent played Dynasty Warriors in years or any game like it because I know its bland XD
Bummer! I wonder how this will affect the future of the japanese X360... After all, N3 was supposed to be THE kiler apt for the X360.
its been out for awhile in japan. It really didnt make much of a splash at alll and didnt sell that much either.
What I don't get is the fog. Kameo was able to pull off similar multi-enemy placement without having to use too many technical shortcuts, yet they simply upped the fog and reduced the draw distance instead of crafting the engine around the amount of enemies (and it STILL has slowdown). Not to mention the RPG elements are often uneeded due to how overpowered you are. Maybe Microsoft should just import Oblivion. Sure, its a Western RPG, but its the main thing the 360 has at this point.
I tried it out and thought it was pretty good, but not great. When I get a chance i will try it on the Hd big screen in the front and let you know how it looks high def wise. As for the blackbars jasonkhowell thats due to the game being optimized for high rez. So if you play it on an hd tv the bars will go away. Suprsingly a good amount of 360 games are optmized for hd this way.
hey d00ds, do you guys get a little bit of slow down? i get a bit of slow down right before the 1000+ guys come, but once im fighting with them no slow down at all...
I enjoyed the hell out of the demo and highly anticipate its release in the US. 1000+ enemies on the screen that I get to run into the middle of and whip the shit out of? Good enough for me.
i liked it. it was alot of fun. I wouldn't pay 60 bucks for but 40 is a good price point for this title. It needs live co-op and you know you can rock your own music with the game so sound track will be replaced. THe back grounds suck models rock and my 2067 combo really was kewl. I don't know how my friend did it but he exploded an entire army with one move it was nuts.
