I was seriously injured at work about ten years ago, and I have after several surgeries I wound up with a titanium rod in my back and spinal fusion. I know I have problems ( I could not feel my legs at all after the injury). Thankfully I got my legs back, but now my right leg is going 100% numb / no feeling. I don't think it's fixable and I have two options... Have them check my back again and surgery with no real promise or Sue them again for more damages and just live with it It sucks and I fear I will be in a wheelchair someday... Just venting I guess.
My brother has had all sorts of problems with his back due to injury. His first surgery was terrible, his second to fix things made things better but now it's steadily getting worse. Just make sure to find the best person you possibly can if you choose to operate again.
If the leg is numb, I would recommend watching out for the color of your leg. Not enough blood flow to the leg (numbness) over a certain amount of time can lead to amputation.
Both. Never hurts to have it checked again by a fresh pair of eyes (except maybe for the pocket book) and suing them more damages that weren't originally anticipated might not be a bad idea either (unless the lawyer thinks it may end up being fruitless but hey they do like money). If I was in your situation I'd look at it as that I may have ended up in a wheel chair anyway and goddamnit if I have to spend several years in a wheelchair I'm going to have it be one bitchin fast wheelchair. Check out the 'White Zombie' 100% electric drag racer. Oh yeh. And hell the huge biceps you develop will be great for arm wrestling. And so far it is only the right leg? Worse case it is nerve numbness and you have difficulty walking. Losing both legs would put a serious dent into my reality but losing one I could manage. A few years back I saw a girl at a grocery store in my home town walking around and I noticed something odd that made me do a double take: she had a prosthetic right leg from the knee down. I'm sure it must not have been cheap but damn if I could tell from how she was walking that it wasn't what she was born with.
check again it might just be nerve's position giving that feeling and nothing too bad... first check then sue.
Sounds nasty... I'm an above-knee amputee on my left leg and while it's a pain at times, sounds like you've gone through some nasty surgery. Definitely get a fresh pair of eyes to check it out if you can, and hopefully you get an idea of where you can go to make some progress fixing it up.
Ouch! I've had a few accidents my self, none quite as bad as that thankfully, but I still feel the mark of those injuries today so I understand your struggle. Numbness can come and go, simple things like swelling and pressure on the nerve can cause it, but with back injury I certainly wouldn't ignore it and hope that it goes away, your back is full of all kinds of nerves some vitally more important than others. Knowing whether the numbness is just a scar of of the back injury of whether it's due to some other current complication you're having in your back would be pretty vital information for you to know down the line.
My grandfather has a similar issue. His problem is both his feet hurt 24/ 7 and have that tingling feeling from limbs falling asleep. He is on some of the post powerful drugs in existence for the pain and it still doesn't help. What a shit hole to get back surgery and end up with nerve damage... I have my own nerve damage in my hands from diabetes. Hardly any feeling in the tips of my fingers and I don't feel pain hardly at all. I actually view this as helpful.
My mother had issues with her knees. My brother has issues with his knees and now I'm getting them. At the same age his and hers started too. I have, much like they did the high end of hyper mobility. The result is I've dislocated my patella twice, one from slight rotation when the foot didn't move, and the other merely walking from one room to another. Was on physio for it which has helped slightly, and I've maintained doing it but it just seems to carry on getting worse. I find below my left knee can fall asleep quite easily (just being rested on my other leg etc.) and pain when getting up from the floor is ridiculous. I have that, think it's just cos im fat though lmao
I have severe arthritis, in which I take chemotherapy drugs for slowing down cell production on a weekly basis plus infusion treatments every two months. With arthritic joints, nerves can be affected which can induce further pain and or numbness. Of course numbness is different than complete lack of sensation and or inability for fluid movement of any kind. If the leg is becoming unresponsive then this would be something to have checked out immediately. Also, blood clots, diabetes or other ailments might be the culprit. Anytime one experiences negative changes in the body, it's best to see a doctor immediately as the issue might be beyond one's own imagination.
Sue them again, since you're going to be bound to a wheel chair at some stage with the right leg problem. Sorry to hear about that man, hopefully you get the money you want.
So many people with so many trouble, I hope you all can improve and enjoy life a little! Assembler, suing would be a bad idea right? Then no doctor would help? Although, it has got to be difficult having one doctor do work on you and stuff it up. I assume other doctors probably don't want to try and fix another doctors mistakes? And there's nothing wrong with PALE! Ghosts never went out of fashion. Whoa, there was a sequel to Ghosts'n Goblins? Past Cool! :congratulatory:
