    Hello,

I unsolded all eproms named Toshiba TC574000AD-120 of my Lufia II prototypes with my Eprom dumper.

I can chose only Generic M27C4001 eprom with the device because I don't have Toshiba TC574000AD-120 on the list:

I join all files from lufia2proto.001 to lufia2proto.005 with hjsplit.

I run the lufia2proto.sfc with Snes9x 1.53 and Zsnes 1.14 but after the Natsume logo I have a black screen why?

    Thanks in advance

First thing I would do is solder in some sockets into the cart and replace the eproms. Then make sure its still working in a real console.

Why are Lufia 2 protos cursed in that the owners don't try to dump it through a Retrode or something more conventional but instead solder off the chips and end up screwing something up? :p

Apparently retrode wouldnt work on the last one. Dunno about this one.

But on the plus side, 27c4001 is the correct generic type to read those chips (unlike what happened to jackheads).

I am not sure if this cart even worked before being dumped - some of the eproms had their windows uncovered. Confirming it actually works before dumping it is sensible IMO. (and then checking it still works afterwards!)

My concern is the one without a sticker covering the window.

its possible that chip has lost data due to exposure to UV.

did you test in bsnes, probably not gonna matter if it didn't work in the hack-filled emus but worth trying

Why the hell are people taking these things apart dump with an EPROM reader. There is really no reason why a Retrode could not dump the game as is. You just have to set it to dump the proper size if the header is not set up correctly. No one should use an EPROM reader to dump a game unless they really know what they are doing, and anyone who suggests it should really stop. Like seriously, after the whole Estpolis II fiasco, no one should be trying to dump with an EPROM reader unless they know what they are doing.

Just to reiterate, unless the prototype has a SA-1 chip or something, it should be fully dumpable by a Retrode. There is no reason to use an EPROM reader to dump it and risk damaging the data.

I try to redump all eproms.

And this time, Lufia 2 NTSC U prototype works :)

    The game is in english.

The intro is the same as commercial game.

Try the game's debug mode to see what the build date is. Enter Pro Action Replay cheat 7E057CFF in the emulator. In a town, hold Start button, and press X. The first debug screen appears. Then press Y to switch to the main debug menu. That screen will list the build date at the bottom.

Hmm, not sure what the problem is... Use both 7E057CFF and also add 8380C7D4, and try again.

Yes, the build date is the same. It's likely identical to the final game. You should use a checksum utility to compare checksums to be sure.
