Got my hands on one of these cool adapters that allows me to connect a keyboard and mouse to my Xbox. I have tried a trust 16708 keyboard and a trust gtx 25. I use ps/2 to USB adapters green/purple to connect them. However, I could not make it work. I found some info here: http://www.consolesandgadgets.co.uk/catalog/magicbox-xfps-p-1873.html And it appears it has a disc with drivers. This disc I don't have. Anyone have a backup for it, or knows how to make it work?
Don't the OG xbox interface with usb keyboards and mice directly? So all you need is a "gamepad to usb" cable and an usb hub or 2 of those cables. (You lose 2 gameports if you use 2 cables.) The cables can also be used to connect a generic usb stick and use it as xbox memory device. Not all games support a mouse and keyboard. Unless your device emulates a gamepad (which I doubt), it shouldn't work different.
Well, from what I've been able to gather, the Halo series is compatible with the XFPS. I've found a few threads about it. But it seems that it doesn't recognize my peripherals. I have a few more keyboards I can try, but sadly I only have that one mouse. Haven't used a desktop in ages.
Not all usb keyboards and mice work with usb/ps2 adapters. The adapters are passive and its down to the device (mouse or keyboard) to support the ps2 protocol natively.
So basically I just need to find some that works? Well, perhaps I find some cheap mouse at a yard sale.
I have one of those and it only works when I had a mouse AND keyboard connected before I connected it to the Xbox, I also use a usb to ps/2 converter. https://assemblergames.com/threads/magicbox-xfps-help.61182/
