Hi! As some of you guys may already know, i'm a nut for the Atari Jaguar :D And it's somewhat sad to see that there's no dedicated forum specifically for this system :( But this what the thread is for, why not make a dedicated forum for this sometimes malingned but unique system from Atari :)? It would be cool to also have one for the Atari Lynx as well since it's a great handheld ;)

I just noticed there isn't even a forum dedicated to general Atari. We should get one.

We've talked about it. No one has permissions in the forum software to do it though.

I asked this question awhile ago and the response was that there isn't sufficient interest from site members. After being here for several years I'd have to agree, there have hardly been any atari related posts outside of KGRAMR's recent threads. I think the atari fan community and the hardcore atari collectors/preservationists/owners of beta software and hardware, etc, tends to be a little older (started gaming earlier) than many of the folks who come by here, and they are already on atariage.

If a Atari Jaguar & Lynx forum is created someday here then i would like to be the moderator to said subforum. Sounds absolutely crazy and non-sensical but i would monitor it every single day to avoid troubles happening there and keep it under the site's rules ;)

What you seem to be missing is that the system-specific forums are for development. Search for Alpine and the latest result (relating to Jaguar) is from 2015. Search for Atari Alpine and there are 32 results, not all related to the Jaguar development kit. In over 13 years, Jaguar development has rarely been discussed. That's the reason there is not a Jaguar Development forum.

Back in the old days, that section was much more clearly marked. It's a mess now, frankly. Atari was never added because nobody talked about Atari development. frankly. There was a general development if they wanted to talk about such stuff. As for general talk, people didn't come here for general Atari discussion. There was Atariage for that. And Neo-geo.com for Neo Geo talk. And whatever that PC Engine one was.

Borman is right, though... nobody has permission to change the layout.

It doesn't mean that, at some point in the future, we won't listen to suggestions about a restructure. After all, the forums did change - several times. We just can't do anything right now! ;)
