Both fake consoles sounds like they could be reality, with normal hardware hacking skills. But Gamegear lite, sounds a bit iffy in name. But what about Gamegear Backlite ? Philips DVDI sounds like a better name , if "Philips dvdip" doesn´t stand for Philips DVD with CDI capabilities and it is a portable system.
I think console mods/hacks would be fun (NOT the kind for playing pirate games) e.g. would love people ideas on an atari jag in a xbox/ps2 case or even custom case shapes, designs to see how users would have liked a console to look. Fake consoles sounds good, i would definatly like that
How about having a blog/site platform for the users of the forum instead of having individual websites lying all around the web, would be cool to have sabre470.assemblergames.com instead of sabre470.wordpress.com... Just a thought...
That's not a bad idea, but just the boards eat tons of memory/bandwidth by themselves and adding a blogs section would increase this a lot, so I wouldn't expect in some time... BTW, the console hack/mods would be fun, we should also add a section with all the fake pics that are shown in lots of sites when some console is gonna be released :icon_bigg
beside the fake console contest, i think that having a "photo" contest on consoles and hardware might be fun and provide good material for the museum (when it'll be back online i mean)!
strippers? we need a blog I think, like all well respected sites. Blogging rights should be awarded based on proper criteria obviously!
That would be cool. And i'm gonna say it again, i think the museum must be back. Even in some sort of Wiki style pages (with editing rights just to some users). Those kind of information is important, not to mention pictures.
The museum was really good. Because of the museum I became a member of ASSEMbler back in the days of the crappy EZBoard forum. Yakumo
wow, I always thought you were unearthed from the foundations of the original forums Yakumo - and then went on to register.
I have a idea, I dont know if its been already done or not though. Sorry if this sounds stupid: Make a new area here on the forums. Call it Assembler Reviews! Inside this area make seperate areas for each console/platform. From there users can make topics that are their reviews of games for others to look up and use as a base comparison. I mean, we are the home of the obscure and we are all always playing something diffrent and usually older. For example today I started playing Ghost Recon 2 on the Xbox. I didnt expect much but I REALLY like it. I would make a topic on the game with my review (option screenshots could be included ect...) It would also give me a more spacific opinion from a expert in that area. A member here who loves shmups could do reviews for shmups and they would be better then a review from a generic site or something as the reviewer is familer with the material. This would give the entire site input and encourage members to seek out unknown games. Plus it might boost sales of games that arnt in the spotlight so much (aka PC games like Mysteries) What do you guys think?
yes i love the idea. one topic for each game. no replys. only allowed replys are other reviews. at least i think that no chit-chat would be better... if you disagre with a review reply with your own!
Yeah I thought it would be fun. When we are looking to pick up old games we can check normal review sites like IGN and Gamespot but we can also look here at the forums and see what other people with like minds think. The more reviews per game would be good to as it would provide multiple view points on them. If the idea pans out and a mod is needed for the review area I would love to do it, never got to be a mod on any forums before
Stuff that NEEDS to be on ASSEMblergames: Bring the museum back online ASAP. If that's too much work, then make it like the wiki where everyone can contribute Bring back the frontpage and add a blog Game review section. That's a fantastic idea, although I disagree with disallowing discussion in each thread.
