I really like this idea Micjohvan. I really enjoy reading and writing reviews and would love to contribute.
i guess that the reviews should be concentrated in not-so-well-known /hidden gems/undervalued games mostly. what do you guys think?
that would be good. i don't really care for reviews of blockbuster games that are going to sell a million copies. because i already know i'm going to buy it! if this idea gets put into place i don't want to be reading reviews on Madden '09. maybe even limit the reviews to exclude current gen(?). keep the focuse on older games that people haven't played but need to.
I would like to see a front portal based on info found in the wiki we have, so information is easier accessible.
I always liked going through the museum section. What happened to the wiki? I think the site would be better if that were more accessible. If none of those work, there's always porn :sexy2:
Yes. A portal with a blog, a museum area and the top 5 topics on the boards. The blog area could have gaming news (connect to what we like the most, rare stuff, betas, and so on), reviews of weird and obscure games and so on. This would be my idea of the perfect site. Of course, this has a $ cost, not to mention work.
I think we should have a guide forum. No posts/questions allowed in seperate topics, just guides written by members in seperate topics.
I think I need a guide to your post.....what? <Wanders off to grab another coffee as I clearly need to wake-up!>
"Guides" as in strategy guides or guides to console software development / setting up development environments, I think. I can see a guide that covers rare / hard to find items (games, accessories, memorabilia, etc) something that could be useful to a lot of members here.
Ah ha! Clarity! Thanks for that, back in the day we just used to refer to them as 'Walkthroughs' - understand which guides you mean. However, other guides would be useful, such as repair guides! I am still working on it!
I say we have a Null/JUNK forum section. We have a pretty mature audience here at ASSEMblergames. I'm sure it can be handled. ^_^
My comment regarding "guides" was meant for hardware/dev related guides, not game guides/walkthroughs  I just noticed recently that we have some good how-tos and guides (including your brilliant repair ones ofcourse ;-)), but sadly they are just splattered all over the place and its hard to find some of them. I think we should have a forum just for guides. Thats why there should be no other topics allowed in that subforum, so it doesnt clutter up as bad as the rest of the forum and delivers users a nice overview of collection information.
2nd'd. Even going the next step, it'd be great to be able to find nice high res motherboard photos of all the Genesis revisions, systems with AV mods, or whatever.
Exemple of a good wiki based page: http://lost.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page PS: Wikia.com uses MediaWikia, an open source soft: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki
