There will not be any flame wars... Don't even bother trying to fuel anyone.

You didn't cause any mess at all! I know how forums work.

It needs more than a knock to move the slider so not an issue; to move the slider needs a positive action. The only issue would be if the main power on/off switch wasn't switched off before moving the slider along, as the 1.9v i've got going to the RGB/composite SCART switch would then voltage one of the controller lines. I only have to switch the on/off to off when moving the switch each time, which is logical anyway.

The method I used would work for AC power or pretty high DC instead. I used normal 1 amp wire for 16 of the 18 connections per system, and 6 amp wire for the two ground lines; similar type to household mains wire.

All forums unless kept in control will tend to have all types of people and all types of post styles for sure; some forums naturally attract the immature, some naturally attract more sensible posting and some attract very technical people. It's Admin on a forum that determines the target audience and how a forum is run and behaves; many a forum has died or got into problems when Admin get it wrong or get complacent. Yes, this forum is generally friendly for sure, if it wasn't I wouldn't post here. I only visit DigitPress, RacketBoy and Assembler apart from my own site of course, so that has to say something good! Obviously I spend about 90% of my forum time on my site, however do like to check out new stuff and topics on the other sites mentioned sometimes.

Way came to design - well, it was a case of what would work given the limitations of materials and also contingency needed to allow for, as covered in the video. I had originally intended to make this 17 switch banks not 16 however the tiny gap between wooden connections was enough, when multipled by the amount used, to mean I ended up with 16 not 17. As it turns out, 16 is fine, it will allow for 16 unique console systems, as the fact there is a GBA Player on the GameCube, the Atari 7800 plays Atari 2600 games and also the PS2 plays PS1, that will give a total of 19 systems via official hardware.
    *facepalm*

Rich guy, can afford to buy gasoline to burn! lol

Man we get gasoline so cheap I am ashamed to tell you what we pay for a gallon.

This is what I pay for a gallon of gas: $3.56 ,, IN Euros 2.83 ,, British pound sterling 2.24.

Yeah, we pay about £1.33 a LITRE in the UK. About 75% of that is tax though. That's $9.54 USD a gallon.

If you really want to know what is suffering by paying gas, $7,11 per gallon with an average wage of barely $1000 does really hurt here...

About the switch, it seems like a tremendous effort of well done hand work, but as most people has said, there are many other solutions which would have been way faster and easier to do...

Actually, it's not. They don't use our gallons - a US gallon is 3.78(ish) litres, not 4.54(ish). So it's $7.95. Still a hell of a lot more, though! ;)

When it got into a flame and troll, the thread lost its purpose anyway.

    No matter!

Racketboy forum seems to have a lot of problems at the moment sadly, they had a General Error on the database, and I can't post or make topics or even see the icons on forum sections anymore. Means the forum there isn't usable until and if they can fix the issues. Means i'll be on here more as a result! ;)

It is awesome! Make a big case for it that looks like an old wooden radio, only a real big one. Like something from the 50s. Just a suggestion. Don't let anyone convince you this is wrong. Nobody can take this away from you. Finish it by polishing the looks and it will be perfect!

That unit will be concealed behind a frontage, it is just the mechanics which will be hidden.
