unbelievable!!!! and it's even more sad, that 15y youngsters wear guns around and shoot people for any reasons!!
Why the fuck do you people have guns? You follow a constitution that has no meaning today! Things like this would never happen if guns were illegal. And please don't give me the shit that you need them to protect because if they were illegal there'd be a lot less for the idiots to get in the first place resulting in no need to have one for protection. The most gun killings in a "1st world" country comes from the one that makes them legal. Something to thing about, no? Yakumo
PLease don't say things like this. It just won't get us anywhere. It is more complicated than it really is. Banning guns won't solve these problems because they will still be accessible. Just like how making weed, coke, and heroin illegal has not solved the problem and in some theories it has become worse, because of it. The 15 year old was obviously a dumb-fuck and should get tried as an adult and become another statistic for young black males.
To Yakumo, I'd like to point out that 1. owning a gun as a 15-year old is illegal and 2. carrying a weapon in public is mostly illegal too, from what I gather (ownership is allowed, but walking around with a loaded gun in your coat pocket isn't)
The founding fathers put the right to bear arms in so that the government could not repress and control the people. With a president like bush, it's a good thing that we have this many guns. If you look at england, if they had a maniac like bush in power, and the took over, well it would be game over. Luckily our British bretheren are a lot more... level headed.
so you mean that if u didnt have guns the government would act all armed against you? or that you threaten officials with guns to achieve democracy?
every right comes with a responsibility. If people aren't responsible (evidently) then that right seazes to exist and becomes an abuse of a right.
But it is also the the responsible who suffer when that right is taken away since the people who caused the loss of that right never cared in the first place.
Most people are idiots, and idiots shouldn't have guns. Plain and simple. I dare anyone to sum it up better than that.
Perfect! Unfortunatly, if guns were illegal or banned, people would still have them. =/ How about we just un-invent them?
And also we should unvent nukes too. Growing up in Texas, I've been around guns all my life. We don't run around waving them in each other's faces though because our parents teach us gun safety too. PROTIP: Real live guns aren't like the ones in the videyagames. They're a lot louder and scarier in person, and a lot harder to obtain than the media makes it out. A lot of the reason you hear about all these violent gun crimes and everything is because the news agencies like reporting violent news because scare stories are more interesting and speak to the public's emotions. Thus, more papers are sold or TV news stations get higher ratings, etc. It's not like people are blowing holes in each other everywhere in the US, and if guns were banned people would find other, more brutal ways to kill each other. Also, I agree with ASSEMbler's post earlier in this thread about Bush. Our president's a wacky character...
This is horrible. Also, if you ban guns, you will create a situation where only people with bad intentions own guns. You will also create a black market of guns, thus supporting organized crime. You know, it's like with drugs - drugs are banned, and that is why producing and selling drugs is such a profitable business (the prices rise 1000 times between harvest/production and retail). If they were legalized, you would have an open market of drugs, they would be 2 or 3 orders of magnitude cheaper and drug mafias would be out of business. They would also have less incentive to deceive and hunt for small kids and 'introduce' them to highly addictive drugs. You might argue that legalizing drugs/alcohol/guns/whatever you think is immoral is well, immoral (and you have every right to think so). But laws should not serve as a moral compass - laws should be made to prevent crime, not to push a certain point of view. Not to mention that people should be free to damage their health as they want (but that's another story). It's hard to argue with this. However, banning guns won't solve this particular problem =P You can't possibly prevent guns from existing or 'uninvent' them, unfortunately...
Terrible story. What I never understood is people saying that they got guns to protect themselves. Dude, I've been in the martial arts thingy since my very young age and have done some hardcore ones like krav maga and I can tell you, if I come to your house to kick your butt, owning a gun or not, the result will be the same: I will actually kick your butt. The problem is: I will probably kick it even harder if you try to defend yourself with your useless gun... People owning guns was a good thing 200 years ago when civil war was at stake, but now, c'mon, it's just bullshit. PS: I agree, getting guns forbidden won't change nothing. you gotta change people's mentality first. and for what I've seen the couple of times I've been in the us' countryside... got a lot of work to do
