The User Feedback thread in the market place has gotten really long (39 pages) and honestly doesn't feel all that useful if you are trying to check on a buyer's or seller's feedback. While it may be a bit daunting to split up the existing thread into seperate ones, I suggest that we implement a feedback forum like the one at DigitalPress. Having a seperate thread for every user whom has received feedback seems to be a much more effective and useful way to display feedback. Rather than searching through a quagmire of posts trying to see if someone has a history of bad dealings or a steller reputation, you can go directly to their very own thread to see other's commments on their transactions. To be honest, the current user feedback thread seems more like a second "Everytime you buy/trade" thread. It just doesn't seem very practical as an actual feedback gauge. What does everybody else think?
If we can update vbulletin, I'm pretty sure we can have it so users can post transactions into the persons profile, so that might be a good idea.
Its pretty easy to search it using the "Search this thread" button upto. The reason we did this is that unless we implement a second forum just for individual feedback there is no other current way of doing it.
I understand that you can search the thread. It just seems like a seperate forum for feedback would be much more useful and "up front" as far as showcasing a persons history with transactions. It is much easier to pinpoint "problem" buyers and sellers if everyone with feedback has their own thread. It would also make it easier if someone does post a negative comment about you for you to respond to the charges in an appropriate way. Dot50Cal's idea sounds quite interesting and useful as well.
I think this is a good idea too. I know there is some vbulletin plugins that allow you to give feedback to users, so maybe we should look into that.
1. I have to move some equipment by end of month (*urgent business*) 2. I have to move the whole site to a new server, next month, first weeks 3. I have to do fresh Vbb install and then port the database 4. Margarita
Honestly, forget a seperate forum. Use a feedback plugin, like Neo-Geo.com uses. I think thats the best choice
Another forum I visit uses one of these types of plug-ins, I like it alot. It's called iTrader; http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=102965 Here's an example of how it looks on a post (It shows under the users location); http://www.sr20forum.com/1690576-post46.html Once you click the rating number, it takes you to an ebay-style feedback page; http://www.sr20forum.com/itrader.php?u=17537 It seems to work pretty well over there, so I thought I'd mention it.
Will it display the item? It'd be much easier for some big company to come by and check out particular users for purchases then chase them, if that were the case.
