So, in the past few days Ive been thinking about a handful of games that I played (or watched) at my cousins place.
One of those I found out with some clever google searching and screenshots, but the second one turns out to be really hard to find, so maybe someone here can help me (or point me somewhere).

What I remember about this game:
    Its a PS2 game.
You played a mech (or something similar).
There was a hub where you were flying above a city(?).
It must have been released before the PS2 slim was released in europe.
It also must have had a release in europe (germany to be specific).
About this one im not sure, but I do vaguely remember it not being localized (read: the game was english only).

Ill try to remember some more details (if I can) but thats it for now. Maybe someone can make something from those points.
Im pretty sure that I can point out the game if I see a screenshot of it (especially the hub-like area).

EDIT: I remembered something else: the game was in 3rd person (most mech games seem to be cockpit/first person ones)

unfortunately no (they lack the hub and seem to be arena-based)

Have a look at the other ones too, there's quite a few of them (8 on the PS2 alone).

Other than that - does this help at all?

But they all share the same core gameplay, which doesnt fit what im looking for. I also went through that list and it looks like nothing fits...

Well, thats exclusively on the xbox, not the ps2.

It's an early 3rd person mech suit title for the PS2, it also involves flying over a city which serves as the games main overworld as you move from area to area. It sounds like what you're looking for, although perhaps this is a cliche for the genre at the time. Here's another video, is this the city you are looking for?

Glad to help, although I'm surprised it's not the first game people thought of. It is quite an old game though, details about it are often forgotten. I believe there is an HD collection available if that interests you.

You should definitely check out the HD collection - I saw it for only $20 at a retail store yesterday. The ZOE games gained massively in terms of aesthetics from the HD conversion because there are so many straight lines and tiny numbers and details. I loved ZOE on the PS2 and I (will) love it on the Xbox once I have more time for it after exams end.
