I feel like I'm the only christian that sees through them.

    Lets look at them both.

McCain is old VERY OLD if I am not mistaken even older than Reagan when he was elected. He doesn't have a good health record either. He's most likely out of touch with a good 80% of americians.

    And Palin?

    Clueless about this countries policies
has run a state where NOTHING happens
Has a Pregnant daughter so that shows she's not a good parent.
Lets her faith cloud her judgement rather than guide it.
    IS AN AIR HEAD
and come on who fuckin uses YAHOO as their primary business e-mail?

If McCain had chosen somebody like say Colin Powell then no doubt I'd have voted for him.

But all his promiseses? I wish I could belive him but once he gets in IF HE DOES he'll just do what Bush is doing and continue to fuck us over.

Not like Obama has a TON of experence either but he has somebody with him that has plenty. He realizes that Iraq is pointless right now. Plus electing a Christian who was raised muslim AND IS BLACK sends out a good message to the rest of the world that we're not a bunch of hypocrites with our heads up our asses.

Plus Obama from day one was somebody I trusted. My trust is hard to gain.

I DO NOT Trust McCain. I usually vote to the right but doing that hasn't done us so well so maybe I do need to be a bit more open minded.

Ignoring all else and out of my own curiosity. What is it that makes you trust Obama?

Religious people are given a special super power that allows them to see through every other person with X-ray vision and see what troubles their soul. They are guided to then talk the hind-legs of said person until they are 'converted'. If said 'conversion' does not take place, the last tactic is to pull apart the World until we 'see' their truth!

I may be banned for my view, but I would be proud to be banned for this over anything else! :)

    Really? Nothing?

The single most offensive and ignorant thing I have heard you spout!

Which leads me to your next comment, which I believe to be directly linked to the first...

As with all righteous religious believers, they assume that their own example of chosen faith is superior in effect and usage than anyone elses, which is why I don't wholly trust anyone who discusses their religion as if Jesus is their personal friend, and their faith their single most important 'thing' in life.

Sadly, not true. Ignorant of World matters, rather naive and a complete unknown until now yes! However, it was a poor miscalculation on the part of McCain and I think he'll come to regret it for a variety of reasons. As soon as the honeymoon period is over, I think the mystique will wear off and she'll be seen for what she is, a poor candidate for the position of Vice President.

Probably quite a lot of people, just not someone running for such a senior position in the most powerful Government in the World. She was asked to change and didn't. Not a very good move on her part, especially if those email hacks are genuine. Whatever, I don't think that security will be an issue any more, her 'minders' will have taken steps to ensure that - we should hope!

Yeah, I dunno about that one. Kid's are dumbasses now, sometimes it doesn't matter how the parents are. But who knows if shes a good parent or not.

    Agreed.

Nice bit of footage - I am sure if they tried the same with Obama that they'd find a pile of bloopers, however McCain doesn't come out of that one well. Hard to argue with his own issues as he clearly hasn't got much of a defense, he said 'em!

    Ouch!

On the Obama and lipstick quote that seems to suggest that Obama was talking about Palin, I did find it amusing that several hours later they found footage of McCain saying precisely the same thing. The only difference being that second time round Obama's followers were probably mindful of the rather strange quote Palin came out with regarding Hockey Mums. Just daft!

BTW we are getting A LOT of information and coverage of the US Elections here in the UK. It's become a bit of a long campaign, even we are feeling the fatigue!

Wait, let's not. Considering all the BS you're posted about on here in the past despite being a 'minister', I don't think you have any place analyzing any body from a moralistic viewpoint, especially not as a Christian.

Atheists are as zealous as the next religious nut, it would seem.

Nope. I am not an atheist, I am just someone who doesn't ram religion down my fellow mans throat so that they may choke on my piety! I'm sick to death of people using religion as an excuse or convenient means of hiding their agenda. It's bullshit!

I particularly dislike when religious people look down on others due to their personal circumstances, such as falling pregnant an early age, which is none of most people business. She decided to keep the baby, so well done her! I suspect she'll be facing the consequences of that decisions for a very long time and Palin can't be condemned for supporting her daughter's (or family) decision. Nothing about that makes her a bad parent. Don't drop religions into the mix, it doesn't belong there and if it did, I am certain it would be the pro-life forum who'd be applauding the fact she is keeping the baby.

At least GoH, attribute commonsense to argument and determine what the broad religious debate would focus on!

I'm actually a ministers son and I 'endured' a huge amount of flak from so-called religious people who use and manipulate their 'faith' to meet their own ends. That is NOT religion, that is merely attempting to salve ones own concience and get away with it by attending church once a week and paying lip service to words in the bible.

My own particular favorite being 'People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones'.

Prior to this post, I don't think anyone would have thought or even assumed I had any religious leanings. That's the way I like it because I don't believe in the fairy tale version, and I am not some bogus youth leader either!

GoH, I wonder what advice you would have imparted had one of your female fellow teen Christians approached you seeking council on the delicate matter of her having fallen pregnant?

"Oh, gee, your parents can't be very good!"

Religion may teach morality, but morality is also about life and pregnancy is a biological consequence of sex, not poor parenting (or otherwise). By the time that pregnancy has occurred I think one can safely assume that a chastising morality lecture is somewhat late. The conclusion being (in your theory) that if your parents have not furnished you with the strength to stave of carnal knowledge until within wed lock, then they are poor parents! You need to be a youth pastor in the 18th century, not the 21st!

Sexual education is important, but seeing it in such black and white terms is doing no good. Openly discussing the debate rather than pointing the moral finger is a far better method.

Has it at all dawned on you that people can change?

    anyways.

I'm registered as an independent. There's really no real difference between either party It's just who is the lesser of two evils.

I'll use the South Park example. It's always a choice between a "big turd and a Giant douche"

Who do you trust more. I trust Obama more than McCain.

Being too Conservative isn't good being too liberal isn't good. You need a Good Balance.

Whatever the opinion, whether religious or otherwise - ramming it down someone's throat is the annoying part of it, correct?

    Agreed. Finally.

I got banned off ntsc-uk for life for saving bad things about Americans, I'm keeping it zipped. This is the only hardcore board I have left. :)

If McCain does get in we're guaranteed 4 years of good gags on Jon Stewart and Colbert though.

    I should refrain.
