Model 1 SCD/MCD is easily damaged in shipping. They're fragile inside. There's plenty of repair guides for them, however... keeping in mind they're pretty complicated. I'll send you a model 1 Genesis if you pay shipping. Hell, I'll send you two or three if you want. I have... a lot of them... I -think- they all work. No cords, though.
32x can be modded for s-video. I recommend a visit to sega-16. Also i use a rgb to component converter for my mega drive/genesis setup and sms2, the picture is fantastic.
So wait the 32x X has it's own video output I thought it out put through the genesis and somehow improved the video....... Dammit sega why do you make everything so complicated in your pre saturn hardware (The Funky AV out on the Master system anyone)
Cable goes from the Gen/MD AV-out, into the 32x which slathers on it's own graphics, then out to the TV.
The 32x is pretty much an overlay on top of the genesis graphics. They thought the genesis would dedicate to scrolling backgrounds and the 32X would do the hard work. The PlayStation came along and flipped their dinner table over and that was that.
Sega always seems to undermine themselves. SOOOOOO lets see if I got this right. I need to Mod the 32x NOT the Megasis inorder to get S-Video out of both? OR use a Scart Cable, and a Scart- Component Converter.
I don't know what the input is for md2 to 32x... is it rgb? Or composite? I read genesis 1 is only mono audio with 32x. I suppose if possible you'd want to do rgb to 32, then s-video out.

I've thought of getting a broken Saturn, and then Frankenstiening together a 32x.Genesis and Mega CD. Too much work.
32X improves only composite video, due to a better encoder. It will not improve RGB. RGB is mandatory for the 32X to operate. Officially incompatible with all consoles who lack RGB (such as Laseractive or the original Wondermega).
I've had a model 1 sitting in my basement for years that broke when Sega CD games were still being made so I can attest to their fragility. BTW: Are the Wondermega/Xeye as fragile as the model 1? I saw one for sale recently but the CD side was non-functional.
Not exactly. X'Eye is based on the Wondermega 2. In fact RGB was added specifically for the US market. Notice the Genesis 2 video socket not present on Japanese versions.
Also, the two versions of the Wondermega - the RG-M1 and the RG-M2 - are very different from one another. The X'Eye is based on the RG-M2. As far as the Wondermega being fragile, I've had mine for a few years, and I've had no problems with it. I am very gentle with it, though. It's my baby. I also have a model 1 Sega CD that appears to be working fine. I haven't used it much, though. It's mono only if you take the audio from the 32X, I think. If you use the headphone output from the Genesis 1, you get stereo.
Yeah I have no idea why Wondermega disabled RGB in favor of s-video. Odd considering SFC, PS1, Saturn, and Neo Geo, each had an official cable.
HOLEEEEEEEE SHEEEEEET that is some awesome interpretation of "The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear" PSML
