I search some information about a games for dreamcast. Its a Megadrive Emulator. I don't know if its official. Sorry for my english.
PM @Tomleecee He's had a look at it. He said the emulator is better than the one found in the "Sega smash pack" compilation. Btw, where did you get those pictures?
Looks like its legit from the copyright on the image but hard to say with such limited information. Have you been able to dump the disk? It might be possible to find out from looking at the files if you have.
It is legit, it was supposed to come out as a standalone mega drive compilation. I would also appreciate a PM with a link
@Tomleecee is the source. He talked about this over at Dreamcast Junkyard blog or in their facebook group. He met with an owner of a GDR, just like the one in op, and played it. He had footage of it too, but he said it was lost due to a harddrive crash.
Information from the sellers : "it was created by Sega Japan" "I believe it was never seriously considered for a retail release and appeared towards the end of the DC lifecycle just before Sega started to pull away from the consoles development of new titles" He don't want to talk, i have try ..... Its not suffisant
Have you talked to the guy I mentioned? He said it was developed by Sega Europe and that it was supposed to be coded from scratch. It had better compatibility and sound than the US Smash Pack. You could also go to the facebook group of Dreamcast Junkyard and PM them, they're usually quick to respond.
i would contact drx as well, he knows some things about the origins of roms that came from sega's archives so he might be able to tell you more about whats on the disc itself.
Hello Laurent, Have you been able to connect a VM in order to see something ? By the way, are you the nice Swiss guy I am talking with by mail ?
Hello, this is the version I played (image attached). The owner is an ex-Sega Europe guy. Said it was just created as an internal thing but there are various magazine articles that describe a PAL version of Smash Pack in development at the time which is very intriguing. I'll try to get more info and share it here when I do
You have logo megadrive whit the VMU. For Rom games writting "Sega Smashpack " you have the logo of the megadrive games. @kennypecheur I think its me
Thanks guys, we had already talked via PM It would be interesting to see how much of the development was shared between the two projects. The ROMs might indeed give us some clues about that.
So, is it true that it has better sound than the hacked Smash Pack (that's out there on the interwebz)?
