Here's a vid of the MD versions of Fifa08, Sim city and The Sims. They start at about 57 seconds in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7P9gv6Uq10
Its a Tectoy demo reel, Its not all Zeebo stuff. You can clearly see those MD games from the colour palette.
Those are just cellphone games converted to run on the Megadrive (or whatever that thing is these days).
That's what I don't understand. Why would they go trough the trouble of doing that instead of just including some classic megadrive games.
Cos people always want something new - and classics are awesome but they've been played a lot. That's why there were all those famiclone carts claiming to be Mario 4, 6 or 15 or Street Fighter 3. The real thing is much, much better, but it's still old in the eyes of the general public, who would buy this sort of product anyway.
From what I understand, all of the new games do not run on the megadrive chip at all, they have some sort of Java emulator to run all the new games. Just looking at screenshots of the new games will show you that there are way too many colors on screen to be megadrive ports.. Though I don't actually own one, I just remember reading this somewhere. I wonder if the guitar controller would work on a real megadrive.
