So I got some question to ask to the finnish members !
In few months , I'll travel to Finland.
    I got some questions :

    - How are finnish people with tourists from other countries?
    - There are a lot of good shops in Helsinki?
    - Most of finnish people speak english or finnish ?
-How is the weather in Finland during end of Febuary - beginning of March ?
It is really cold or chilly ?

    My last question is :

    - Finnish girls are sexy ?? ;-)

    Thanks for the repliers.

Two of your questions are purely moronic. I won't answer them.

Finns hate other people. Unless drunk, they do not dare talk to others. Finns are very bad at speaking English, it's their third language, and even their second language is hard for them. Of course they speak Finnish... The weather, depends where your going. Lapland; bring your long johns, Helsinki; you'll be alright.

    - How are finnish people with tourists from other countries?
Same as anywhere else really they hate tourists, everyone hates tourists, mainly because tourists are dicks

There are a lot of good shops in Helsinki?
Depends what you consider a good shop, if a good shop means somewhere that sells things you need then yes you will be fine

Most of finnish people speak english or finnish ?
Like 99% of people around the world they mainly speak their own language but i would imagine alot can speak english or at least point you towards the toilet when you need a shit (the universal sign language of im about to shit myself will help you here)

How is the weather in Finland during end of Febuary - beginning of March ?
Cold in some parts, warmer in others

    Finnish girls are sexy ??
Same as every other country, some are and some arent, regardless you still wont be dippin your wick whilst you are away

    hope that helps

What's a GP? I am serious though. Everyone who have met Finns know it is.

They can be nice though, if they are wasted. But most of them are anyway, so it's not a problem.

I could actually give you proper answer for very specific questions if you want.

Also, Elijah is right. Finland is NOT in Scandinavia!

Actually it is, but the language is not a part of the language "family" (they are of the Finno Hungarian language "family" just like Sami) unless you count "Finn Swedish", as a language.

Christer-swe: GP is the master of sarcasm here, hence I asked you. If you were trying to be GaijinPunch of Scandinavia, whether or not they spoke pretty good English or not, cause I met two Finns, who were pretty damn good in English at Eurocon some years ago. So I big to differ about your answer about the capabilities of the Finns to speak English or not. But whether they are good at either Norwegian or Swedish. Well that is a different matter.

Så flyt dig dog, for helvede landet væk. Hvis du insistere på at I ikke ligger i Skandinavien. ;-)

Actually it isn't. Nor is Denmark, if you want to nitpick about it. Only Sweden and Norway are part of the Scandinavian peninsula. (Who is, in turn, a continuation of the Scandinavian mountain ridge.) A fellow Scandinavian like yourself should know this. ;)

Hehe, well one could have worse goals to aim at. He really is a beacon of sarcasm. On the matter of English... You may have met two Finns who spoke pretty good English. I, on the other hand, have met heaps of Finns in my line of work, and at most, they know enough words to ask for direction to a toilet, and at worst, they make gestures. Some Finns, who shouldn't count in this discussion, speak Swedish as a first language and know their way around the English language, but that's a completely different debate considering it's alot easier for them since Swedish and English is very closely related, and -- as you say -- Finnish is as close to English as Turkish or Mongolian.

Okay, then I am just more diplomatic. Cause I consider Finland to be a part of "Scandinavia"/The Nordic Countries (well that is the truth, they are a part of the Nordic countries). wiki

And yes, I am a Scandinavian :) Cause my blood is not only red and white, but also red and yellow, and some other stuff. I am not entirely sure off.

Mate, I hope you understand. The witty comment in Danish was nothing serious, only in jest. Cause Danes, sometimes have a rough and crude humour.

Well, you have to separate Scandinavia and "The Nordic Countries" (Nordic? Is that an area?). The link you provided does. Finland is Nordic. We share lots of cultural similarities (Especially we Swedes. Considering general mood, we're probably closer to Finland than the "gemytlige" Danes and Norwegians.) But it's not Scandinavian.

    Are you talking about Skåne?

Also, I'd say Finland is closer to Norway when it comes to general mood than Sweden.

Are you kidding? Norwegians are jolly and light-hearted. As for Swedes and Finns, we are more Bergman-esque.

Yes, I am proud of being from Scania too. That is why I am normally trying to be at peace with the other Scandinavians on forums.

LOL I have seen much better explanations/Norwegian joke shows about how Danish sounds, not even the non Scandinavians in the town I live in, speaks such gibberish. And with that video you gave a link too, I must conclude your humour reminds me more of Swedish dry humour. Than Norwegian humour. So TRK if you weren't trying to be funny, then I would call you a blatant racist prick. But I do not think you are that.
